Why did Lemon Chiffon and Proudinsky get the dead rail notation, but Visit and Court Vision did not?  All of them had 1w1w trips.

I will tell you why, because I bet the crap out of Lemon Chifon and Proudinsky and I didn\'t bet the other two :)

TGJB

The course was drying out and speeding up some, didn\'t seem to make a difference late in the day. Only reason I did it with such a small sample is that turf horses are so consistent-- would not have done it with a dirt rail.

Okay, but why would one horse in a race get the notation, but another horse in the same race running in the same path not get it?

TGJB

One spent more time inside than the other-- Court Vision swung out turning for home.

I feel a lot better now. I had BIG MONEY on both those two......

Caradoc

So was the dead rail in the stretch only? Meaning, if you tipped out at the top of the stretch, no notation, even if you had run on the rail for the first 7f?

HP

This reminds me of an old horseplayer joke.

\"The figures were right and I had it nailed, but the horses got it wrong!\"

Maybe Jerry can do a Mid-Day Derby Analysis Supplement where we can log on and get his take on the first few races on the card and make any necessary adjustments...

\"The figures were right and I had it nailed, but the horses got it wrong!\"...nice...still lmao.....

JB is in Toronto at Woodbine, right now. Springsteen beckons. He\'ll respond fully to Caradoc when he returns. The response starts \"It depends\". Stay tuned.

I\'m tuned.  Proudinsky, who got the \"X\" designation, is entered on Saturday.  Was there a dead turf rail only in the stretch on Derby Day?

Mike Smith never left the rail on Lemon C. What piece of work. Is he       going to **** up the derby ride?

Yes, but to be fair, I don\'t think anyone could ride that horse and bring him home a winner in this race.

TGJB

In this case it looks like horses that were on the rail around the turn and stayed inside were the ones who suffered. There is no hard and fast rule, and I\'m sure we miss some.
