Same effort race after race??????????

I think I asked this question before but don\'t remember the answer...ooops. An example to my question is Hello B\'Way & Nowhere To Hide in the TBD. It is hard to to believe that a horse can run almost the same exact effort 4,5,6 sometimes 7x\'s in a row, Is that even possible? Seems hard to fathom to me.
