Four of the first six races on the Inner Tube for maidens. Pass.

Fairly uninspiring racing at Nawlins.

At Frank\'s place, I am looking at races 7-9. Race 7, the Holy Bull, 9 furlongs.
Race 8, the debut of frere de Barbaro, who might be a bit overbet to say the
least. In the 9th, the Donn Hcp, BC Dirt mile winner Albertus Maximus returns
to the races and faces Anak Nakal (won Pa Derby in 08),AP Arrow (McPeek now,
won Clark Hcp in 07), Arson Squad (won Med Cup in 08),Sir Whimsey (won
Gulfstream Park Hcp in 08), Great Hunter (multiple graded stakes winner) and of
course Einstein (graded SW on dirt and multiple graded SW on turf.

Am not a big fan of Frankstro, but I\'ll take good racing where I can get it,
and races 7-9 tomorrow at GP are bettable, compelling and significant.

I agree 100%.  I wish I could find something compelling in Race 8 but it looks like a pass to me.  Not to say someone else may find a good play.

No Sir Whimsey at 12-1 in the Donn ? . How about that Wishing Well at S.A. - thats got to be imo the  toughest race to handicap ever   . . .

Great betting P4 at GP races 7-10.  2,8,10 with 1,3,4,6,10 with 2 with 6,12.  Albertus Maximus training like gangbusters for Kiaran.  Using Nicanor but hoping for another.

Bernie looks strong to me in race 7. Working bullets the moment he hit the ground in So Fla.

Dealt with big fields before and faced the top comp in division. Seems much more the now than the 11 who produced very SLOW breeze two weeks ago which would indicate they are looking down the road a little.

McPeek may sneak an inside stalking trip again from 2 hole which gives him an advantage. Made this runners sire into Derby fav race horse.

Bullsbay at a big price in the Donn?

One speedball and two closers inside - the Bull might run 1w/1w. JR made the 114. 1M might have been a bit too short last. A run in the \'0 range might be competitive.

Bullsbay the key.

How\'s this track been playing? Bris impact figures, something I rarely pay attention to, have the speed with a big advantage. The few races I\'ve watched have looked almost Kee-like (old Kee). Some horses love it, and a bunch don\'t lift a hoof?

Silver Charm

There was a HUGE north wind today which made for some crazy come home times.

There were no Barbaros in the Holy Bull. Somebody in the So. Fla 3YO Derby scene needs to step up. Maybe its Phil but lot\'s of those guys were real quiet today.
Does anybody know how JJ is doing. That was a pretty bad fall he took..

Don\'t know what to make of the Holy Bull.  Time seemed VERY slow, but compared to the Donn, they were only a 1/2 a second slower.

There was indeed a tough headwind on the backstretch all day.

jimbo66

The headwind wasn\'t the only problem.  To Michael\'s comment, the surface was both speed favoring and quirky in that some horses didn\'t pick up their feet at all.

When was the last time you saw a grade 1 race where 3 of the 9 horses were eased, without there being some type of injury causing it.  I don\'t think the Holy Bull will be relevant at all, as I guess the form will not hold up (either the good form or the bad form).

As for speed favoring evidence, the Holy Bull top 2 went all the way around the track together and the Donn the top 3 at the start were the top 3 at the finish, with the winner barely getting by a 30 to 1 shot coming back on 6 days rest.

Silver Charm

The Donn and the Bull were SLOW and SLOWER.

Conditions were not great. 20-30+ mph gusting winds can do that. Maybe the surface, as the day went along, got a little beat up also.

Anybody who doesn\'t think a strong wind would effect a horse race should either go out and run straight into it or stand on a tight tee box and hit a golf ball into it.

Stress from the resistance will do funny things to an athlete.
