Living Room Downs does have its benefits-- a pot of weenies boiling on the
stove, the beverage of your choice easily accessible, the comfort of wagering in
your bathrobe, briefs or boxers.

I made a trip to the Big A Monday and was taken aback by the amount of
distractions when one attends the races live.

The sound of the contractors who are working to build the Aqueduct Racino was
positively deafening.

Someone kicked a trash can in response to a photo or a poor result or a bad
ride. The noise startled a flock of pigeons residing in the rafters; the
pigeons then flew in a circular pattern, Hialeah style, over the paddock (Now
I know why Jan Rushton wears those hats). I think NYRA publicity is
missing something here-- I think a daily pigeon flight, as an homage to the
beautiful shuttered track down in South Florida, is a can\'t miss idea.
