Sept on the turf at Monmouth.  Nice spacing.  maybe kick in another 500 k and get curlin?

Originally, I thought a turf race was unlikely. But the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. If the goal is to win the Classic, there is nothing to be gained by throwing him to the wolves now even though the fans might like it. He has already demonstrated a fondness for the turf. If anything, a turf race now will be easier on him and prepare him for the synthetic surface of the Classic better than another dirt race.

If wonder if anyone has any stats on turf to synthetic vs. dirt to synthetic specifically as a prep.

These guys are pushing the right buttons and making the right moves wiht Big Brown. He needs some time to recover from the Triple Crown and get ready for the Classic with a proper prep.

Nobody complained when Charlie Whittingham took Sunday Silence to La Downs for the Super Derby as a BC prep.

The big difference here being that he will not be facing Curlin anywhere in this schedule.

However I did see a report last night that Jeanine Edwards was reporting of a possible Match Race in December.

Anyone know anything about that?

Iavarone is mouthing off about the match race without the same horse perhaps. Fact is BB is not doing all that well.He was tired out of his last race and lost weight which is unusual for him.

Whether he will come all the way back to his pre Belmont form is questionable.

Ivarone discussed the possibility of a match race on the At the Races radio program - there\'s a website you can listen to past shows.

One shot of anabolic steroid during the week post-race would have helped prevent that weight loss ....
