As best I can tell, it looks like there will be some improving weather for the
weekend\'s festivities. I do not know if they will be racing over the grass on
Friday, but I plan on handicapping this evening as if they will leave the Lake
George and the race which follows on the Turf.

Saturday\'s stakes look appetizing and feature arguably two of the fastest NY
Bred slow rats of all time-- Bustin Stones (Vanderbilt) and Commentator
(Whitney). The Whitney has a large field of accomplished stakes runners. The
Diana looks like a well matched race with a decent sized field. Wait a While is
entered off a seven month layoff and I would be surprised to see her start if
the turf is anything but firm, which is highly unlikely. In the Go For Wand,
they may have put enough weight on defending champ Ginger Punch to make the
race an interesting wagering proposition.

Personally I will not even try to match my performance on opening Friday last
year: 18 holes of golf, 9 races at the Spa, followed by 7 hours planted in the
same barstool. When I got up to leave at about 3AM, a friend asked if I was
sober enough to drive, and I honestly replied that I had no idea where I had
parked my truck and would probably be sober by the time I found it.

This is a riot.

I believe I saw them post after the last race that the the Lake George is on the turf, everything else off.

In the stakes pk 4, I am all over the 12-1 bit of whimsy, the line looks great, the number power is right there, with the rail I am keying him BIGtime. Good luck
