When I got to the Hudson (NY) OTB at about 5PM, since the 9th had not yet gone off they were not showing derby odds, BUT, the (9th & 10th) double will-pays showed the three top picks getting hammered, with all the other payoffs sky-high. But, by that time I had already made up my mind to toss BB, so ...

Also, based on that $141 exacta, is anyone else thinking that Richiebee was right, and that the \"pants suit\" side clobbered Eight Belles in the win pool but left her quite long in the exotics?

From Someone who hated Big Brown before the race

I am very pessimistic when it comes to handing out the triple crown to horses, I hated alot of the horses that were on the verge of winning the triple crown but this horse just seems to be freaky.....He seems to be just a better 3YO than anything out there and seems to have the triple crown in hand, None of these US 3YOs are going to get it done, maybe the one from Japan (better than Honour colt)..I don\'t think he will see much of a challenge until he faces older in the fall...Unfortunately the Breeders\' cup will be on Synth so who knows how that will play out..

Assuming he makes it that far with his reputation intact, I don\'t think we are going to see Curlin vs. Big Brown unless it occurs at Belmont because I don\'t think either one of them is going to Santa Anita to run on sythetic. The Classic should actually decide the Eclipse for turfer of the year and the Turf Classic should be retired for one year. ;-)
