I thought the sight would be buzzing about the bombs at the Malibu generating the huge super, and talk about whether the surface at the track had impacted the horses or not. What do you all think happened there?

looking at the prices, I would say a long volatility play, with no handicapping whatsoever, would have been the correct strategy, but ...

Rich liked the $24 winner enough to put him in the top two, and flush liked the 2nd and 3rd place finishers (42-1 & 15-1), so the race did make some sense if you were sharp enough ....

I thought Steven Crist had the right idea when talking about this race on his blog. The winner was deserving given the fractions he set and where those who ran with him finished, but the others behind him were not great. Horse Greeley plodded along the whole way and stuck around for third, but his run was unremarkable. The runner-up is a very likely underlay next out.

Not sharp at all I\'m afraid. I\'ve been very occupied with loved ones visiting for Christmas and was not paying real attention- Oh well- tomorrow

the runner-up probably does go off next time at short odds and short rest if they turn him around too fast . I actually liked him a little but wasn\'t in love with it ...  the winner was imo one of a few who could win - and did . i  keyed #3 over #2 & #8 and left it at that . guess i should have spread out some instead of thinking about a minimal or reduced exposure approach - opps . chalking the malibu up in the live and learn catagory ...
