With Jerry giving out his annual Christmas gift to us (very generous of you JB), lets get some discussions going.  Santa Anita has an excellent card tomorrow. I gotta run right now, but would like to read what some of you have to say.  Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas Day.

RICH

Hey P

In the 7th I\'m going with Les Grands Trois and Johnny eves in my pk 3 start. Frankels horse looks tough at the weight, another pair-up can take this.

In the 8th Warning zone is a little slower than some of the way outside horses, however, he should get the inside 1w1w trip. His last at 1 1/4 was too far, he should move thru the prior 6, and even if he don\'t and just pairs up, the others with projected outside runs will have to run 4\'s just to be with him. If he can break thru that 6 just a little, he\'ll win.

good luck

I\'m loving Desert Code at 15-1 ML. I\'m guessing he\'s wanted to sprint all along, where he likes to sit just off. Note the hidden # going 7 on the Holly synth 7 months ago. The comebacker, his best turf #, indicates he could be stronger now (as several in here might be). Should not be negatively affected by large field as others may be.

Horse Greely looks a bit scary and I must use Carrilero at a bomb price... Puype is hot and has good #\'s going turf to synth and route to sprint, plus the 2 bullets and he was raised on the pampas eating the same magic heno as the undisputed champion of the world Invasor. Might be to much too soon in here for the younger true southern bred but he\'s going on my watch list for 08.

Great race, best of luck...

After a quick look,

I will probably try to narrow down the 6th for a pick 4 key and exactas.

Although the odds may not be right, #9 BL looks like a decent fit.
Cassidy improved #11 THG I see as main contender.
Pick and choose from the rest for exacta value underneath. I prefer #\'s 1,5,7,8 for value play. #\'s 10 and 12 seem more obvious and chalky.

taking a shot with a couple of 15-1 ml runners:

the 7th is brutal .....

a few of the outside runners might get the \'0\' to \'1\' range, but with some serious ground loss in the big field. the Frankel horse should be tough. not sure what to make of EZ over the cushion.

I\'m going with Desert Code from post 1. got down to the \'5.75\' as a 2 yr old over the cushion, then to \'2.5\' in the grade 3 sprint in May over the same surface. nice timing for this one. looking for a ground saving run in the \'1-2\' range, which puts him close at long odds.

8th - going with Rutledge Cat at long odds. talented colt ran a rather hidden \'7.5\' in his first turf race as a 2 yr old from the 11 hole. followed that up with a few off races, but came back with a strong poly win in October. plenty of rest for this one. has some tactical speed - should get a decent trip from the 4 hole in the 14 horse field.

and a big thanks to the kind folks over at TG for the free data this week.

Since no one has touched the 9th, here goes:

4,5,7,10---too slow for my taste
13, 14-----need to improve a bit too much from outside posts
3, 9-------will pass both firsters (like Matlow but barn seems a tad cold)
1----------figuring a reaction to 13 1/2 top
2----------2 vet scratches....layoff....has # power here but have to toss some
12---------isolated 12-barn not strong on debuts and layoffs
6..........decent # power..maybe too many too soon
8..........PM has on improve
12.........1st time CG.. T to Dist...?

Not sure program lines on Equ are correct but at 12-1 am using #12, at 8-1 the 6&8 as well. If I am not too deep will add the 12 and the 2 at projected big odds

not bad flush. you had good reads on the 2nd & 3rd place finishers (at good prices). I may have jinxed you with the top pick.

some more good racing on Sat ......

Please, no jinx talk. Desert Code was 18-1 and ran to it. It was just one of those days. Had Rateau in the 6th (how was he 23-1 in that field?) and it was sickening... the winner went home in a van after the re-rally in deep stretch, ugh. Also really disapointing was Raffie\'s ride on Rutledge Cat. Based on his earlier races this year you might say he dont like to run inside, but still, disapointing. I\'m fairly certain he\'ll get one of the top two TG figs in the race... he outran his odds. Another one for the watch list...

As fans of dem bums used to say... Wait till next year. (ok, only 5 more days)
