I mentioned Forego, Secratariat, and Spectacular Bid. I don\'t think I need to mention what they accomplished.

Invasor had a fantastic record, winning many notable races. That you cannot take away.

But his competiton was not the toughest, he didn\'t set track records, and if pitted against the horses universally reagarded as great...he probably comes up short.

He did what was asked of him. My point is that the word great is thrown around all too often. He may have had a chance to prove his \"greatness\" if he didn\'t get injured....but we\'ll never know.

P-Dub,

Who where the Horses that Slew,Secretariat,Bid, or Forego Beat. Forego beat many good horses over many years at many distances. Refresh my memory on who were the great competitors those other horses faced...sincerely can\'t remember any great ones, other than Forego doing it year after year, carrying 136 lbs to boot.

Seattle Slew beat Affirmed and Exceller. He lost to Exceller a nose at 12F after setting insane fractions and was actually coming back at him very late. There wasn\'t much quality in his Derby, but if you watch his trip and don\'t understand his greatness, you are missing something. I still get chills thinking about a few of Slew\'s races over 3 seasons.

The Bid was so darn dominant, fast, and consistent over 3 seasons that his greatness was obvious despite not having a lot of super high quality competition on his resume.
