Since JB is playing Santa again, I was wondering if anybody out there has any opinions on the 3 stakes races tomorrow. I don\'t have time right now,  but will post sometime tonight and wanted to know what some of you think.

In the Cal Breeders sprint going 7F, I see Super Image going straight to the lead, keeping it till late, and Pirates Bounty going by him late under gomez...Cal Bred Bertrando.

In the sir beaufort, going a mile on turf, I have been a Kip Deville fan since that colonial downs race where he took off by 15 lengths before getting caught late - thought it was stupid to do so, but became a fan when he only let one by...in any case, Mig is yet another new jock onhim, so I like sartorial and Porto santo on top, with Kip, Funky, and Bedlam bertie underneath.

In the Malibu, I love Midnight Lute in this spot with some prices under him - Northern Soldier and Latent Heat.  I\'m off the Bro Derek bandwagon (anyone need some hats?), and Headley is not as good off the break as Baffert.

Heck , it\'s only a $2 pik 3...plus ck out the horse in the 5th race - msw fillies 2 yr olds , # 6 going short by storm boot!  And the dam won some $$ in stks rces as well...pick of the day.

In  the Malibu I could see Brother Derrek running out of ground and Midnight Lute running off his best setting up It\'s a Bird , who could run right through the recent top - far from a sure thing however  ...

the Beaufort - Awesome Gem + Cal BC Champion - Steady Demand , favs in that race seem very shakey to me . Interesting Opening Day Card , I\'m hoping to play 4 or 5 races starting from the middle of the card on ...

Shanny,
I agree with the 6th and the 7th (looks wide open).  Hard to get past the huge number Lute ran last time, while Arson Squad looks solid and loves the track.

I like Ten Downing Street (ran 2nd to Get Funky this summer) in the 2nd, hopefully can shake loose on the lead.  Carman\'s last makes him a contender in the 3rd, and I like City Lights in the 4th.  Comes back with a 6 day work followed by a bullet 5 days later.  Last was very good and he looks primed to fire a big shot, 10-9-8 for the money. Queen Ofthe Catsle has nice works and a solid T/J combo in the 5th while the rail horse ran a big one in debut. Fun logic has a poor course record in the 9th,  but I like Espinoza on the turf and his last is good enough,  box with Silk Kerchief and Tuff Muffin who runs just well enough to lose.

Good luck everybody.

At today\'s weights, Latent Heat has the 2 fastest dirt races in the Malibu. Could be a decent price coming off the stinker with the top three here getting most of the attention. Style and post could be an asset in this big field for Prado, who flew in for Frankel to upset 3/5 fave in 03 Big Cap. Will save with underlaid Arson Squad and polyfreak Midnight Lute, either one could be anything.

In the 7th, Crested looks to be coming along for Wally. Might have to stomach underachiever Aaron T deciding where to put him as they hit the turn, but he should be full of run at the right price.

I\'ll take Latent Heat.................
