would like some discussion / opinion on prepping...heading to KNLD first wk of October & curious as to how trainers may approach the big day.  with many great stakes races on the first saturday in october, who goes for the win vs. who just want to \"get ready\"?  comments?

... not to mention those trainers who are on record as saying they will train up to the big event. Shug Mcgaughey has said that it is likely that he will train improving filly Pine Island up to the BC Distaff, a race the Shugster has already won 3 times.

The fall Keeneland meet will be closely watched as it will be the first race meet where quality stock will be competing over a synthetic surface. What to make of those animals who will head to the BC off a very good or very bad race over the synthetic Keeneland strip? Or will trainers pointing to BC races avoid Keeneland altogether?

Already looking forward to BC Preview day at Belmont on Oct 7... might even have to make the increasingly rare live appearance.
