Stoops gets the same TG# in the San Pedro as his SunMilDash... beyer# was 23pt drop; did last century\'s guru figure in the extra 16th?

re not-so Strong Contender, can you buy this at 5-2: \"He seems to be a better horse on a harder racetrack, and that racetrack was drying out the other day,\" Ward said. \"They just hadn\'t put any water on it.\"?

\"I make no excuses for him, he\'s a dead-fit horse,\'\' Ward said. \"He\'ll go out there with a top rider on him. Handicappers of America will find out just like me.\"

...and Edgar is a significant improvement over Smith considering the way both have been riding lately?

Keyed Entry scratches from two sprint stakes for this spot... from drf: \"His trainer, Todd Pletcher, said he is concerned about getting hooked in an early duel with Da Stoops\"
... is he somehow trying to bait BB-GG into laying off the pace, which would probably be the seemingly one-dimensional Keyed Entry\'s best chance of beating Stoops?

There always seems to be the possibility that any day can be an Allday, but I\'m expecting a smashing new top for Da faster, versatile, rested, and well-spotted one, sitting close and eating up the loafing Todd piece by the eighth pole as 2nd choice

if the skies open up, you gotta like keyed entry

on a fast track, regent spirit and doc chemney look good.

Da Stoops and Keyed Entry (only 4 half mile breezes since Derby debacle): Suicidal speed duel.

Strong Contender: IMO after the race trainer Ward will be saying that this one\'s  2nd or 3rd place effort was \"just what he needed\" to set him up for the big Spa races. His GP allowance victory was quite impressive, but his last 2 outs didn\'t do much for me. To me, overhyped until he wins stake.

The Zito duo: Doc Cheney faster of the 2, Regent Spirit seems more likely to move forward.

DontfeartheDutrow: Four lifetime starts, 3 TG #s which make him competitive with these. Absolutely outclassed, but Dutrow has won 2 NY stakes in the last 6 days and has a surprising (to me) 18% strike rate in graded stakes (72 runner sample). His pop, Stormin Fever won twice at Belmont and twice ran second in the Vosburgh (the 98 Vosburgh was a strong race-- behind Stormin Fever was Tale of the Cat, Kelly Kip and Distorted Humor).

TG point for discussion: Looking at Dontfear\'s \"graph\", Dutrow\'s run based win percentage is very high in most categories, but looking at his \"TG Figure based -- Overall\" stat, his charges only top 12% of the time. One interpretation is that the much maligned Mr. Dutrow is able to win races in bunches without his stock being extended, or alternatively that he is so crafty that his animals are placed where they do not need to run top efforts to win.

Uncle Buck

Da Stoops needs more Cow Bell...er more Cal Breds...

...another rating experiment gone bad? He might have been tough on the lead given Keyed Entry\'s poor break and lack of conditioning.

Wouldn\'t have been interested in Dontfearthereaper if I could have anticipated his early pace involvement.

I was believing the Snow Chief was the rating experiment.

Unlike the Peter Pan, Strong Contender was bet early and heavy, and ran a few steps better... must have been the not so dry track and Edgar, my bad

Flush,

Typical trainer BS excuse by Ward for his prior start. The Belmont track today was DRIER(despite rain shower) and slower than Peter Pan day and SC came up what appeared to be a deeper inside to win.He caught a bad bunch. We won\'t have Keyed Entry to pick on anymore in routes, too bad.

Keyed Entry\'s O 2 X X pattern ( going into the Dwyer ) is definately an ominus sign for the horse .

Almost any O 2 X pattern could mean a physical problem exsists - I\'ll take an O 2 X if there\'e a price , but an O 2 X X rarely is advantageous for any reason and now Keyed Entry is O 2 X X X ,  I understand throwing him in in p-3\'s etc as an insurance policy but - There probably isn\'t any distance that\'s good for a horse with this type of pattern ...

When Keyed Entry scratched out of the MTH race recently , I thought maybe his connections smartend up and retiered the horse finally ...
