[In a previous episode, months ago, we noted how after trainer Kelly Breen brought his barn from the friendly confines of Monmouth Park [where he ws a killer] to Aqueduct for the Winter, his barn cooled off fast. His horses seemed zapped with Kryptonite there. [He soon bailed, to Gulfstream.]

Now, with ThoroGraph\'s new \"free\" Monmouth Thursday sheets, every boy and girl can see what happens when trainer Kelly Breen\'s vet puts the good wood to one of his horses. His new acquisitions. In Monmouth\'s 4th race today, Breen\'s FIRST TO ROME scored first-off-the-claim at a preposterous 11-1!

Your move.

RICH

I loved that horse, his numbers a few back put him right there, especially at the weights and that inside PP.

Not only did I love the sheet on the winner ...I got it ALL on this race and only spent 10 minutes to feel total satisfaction w/the info Browns\' provided.
So now I\'m going to red-board for the sheetmaker.

F. to Rome: getting ton of weight...trainer 23% off the change...21% last 90+ AND 38% new top last 90+...11/1!!!

Bailey Time: stuck on 9 1/2,exotic play

Cross Court: 22%wins/48% new top last 90+...22% trainer change/but 34% throwing off#...intermitent#\'s were trashy,so photo op was out of the realm

U tickle Me: kinda stuck in the mud...unlike Jerry,I appreciate the 1/2 pt. move...good ITM % for trainer in 1st after maiden win(another source)...T/J 5/7 ITM...after race within point of top was very limited but juicy...

Broome was lone OTHER horse/trainer with 3rd lay 26%;but this animal has been stuck on a # forever

You just can\'t get this info from just anywhere.

John,
Your boy Breen brings the 1st timers(2 yr.olds) in at 21%.When you bet his firsters at <4/1, he\'s 11/26.
Unusual to view a trainer that does both things well.
Do you feel Breen is doing the same for all his steeds to achieve these results?

JohnTChance

It\'s worth noting that Breen was once the assistant trainer [and exercise rider] to the high-percentage Ben Perkins Sr., a trainer who was pretty deadly with firsters [and layoffs] for many years at Monmouth. [Does Ben Sr. still helps prep Ben Jr.\'s New Farm babies? Not sure.] In the past two years at Monmouth, Breen was 5 of 15 with all firsters. And 3 of 10 with 2yr. old firsters. Of course, Bravo aboard means they\'re particularly well meant.

> Do you feel Breen is doing the same for all his steeds to achieve these results?

My 2 cents: It starts with [uhhh... ] \"good nutrition\" on the farm where they\'re prepped. A lot of the Monmouth guys have relationships with top farm people in Florida - like pinhooker extraordinaire Robert Scanlon, who recently passed away - and these guys do the foundation work. They hand them off at a certain readiness. [Remember when Shug used to win with his firsters many years ago? Well, they were prepped on the farm by a retired Frank Whitely!]

By the way, Breen NEVER used to win on the turf. I remember at Gulfstream this winter he was something like 0 for 50 on the surface [Was it 1 for 50?]. But then he scored at 15-1 AT A MILE AND A HALF [!] with turfer APPROVED BY DYLAN, an animal he claimed from Dutrow and Sandy Goldfarb! [Sheesh! Really busted me up.]

Breen\'s DESIRE TO EXCEL just won the Astoria at Belmont, paying $50 to win.

And you didn\'t have a dime on her?
