LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Achilles of Troy, winner of the Whirlaway and Count Fleet at Aqueduct, won\'t race in the Kentucky Derby because of injury.

Paraneck Stables owner Ernie Paragallo confirmed Achilles of Troy has ligament damage in his left front leg and soreness in his rear end, a statement from Churchill Downs said Wednesday.

The son of Notebook, who was expected to run in the $1 million Arkansas Derby on April 15, will probably be out of training until summer, the track said.

Is it normal to bring horse\'s back after this type of thing ? The injury must present a host of developmental issue\'s and Achilles is a young horse with a good future in breeding , why risk that for a couple of purse\'s ?

Silver Charm

>soreness in his rear end

When you have soreness in your rear-end and you are about to starting getting your ass-kicked again, you stay at home until next winter when you can be bully again.

When everyone else has left town

love that last one, charm.  Would you consider it \"classy\" to do the right thing by the horse?  I would...maybe there is hope for him.
