hats off to those of you who supported Matz (CTC?)...I couldn\'t go that direction, but it was a helluva stretch run by both...and now my worst fear is creeping up - Flashy Bull IS dollar bill...

Thanks Shanhan,

I was really glad to see Matz get the win. Pure class - both trainer and horse.
Good ride by Prado overcoming post, and Guidry as well to get Sharp Humor to relax on lead and having something left to give Barbaro a battle in the stretch and complete the Exacta. Not a big price but satisfying none the less.

Tough race, tough favorites card.

Stunned Barbaro got near the front that easily, all that trouble on the turn certainly helped him. He outran Bandini in my estimation and now he gets to go to Churchill and will make that race a better betting affair.

Sharp Humor certainly moved up that race too. What I think we saw were two horses that ran significantly better than 2\'s or 3\'s. Both the top two finishers have to be considered formidable race horses and Sunriver\'s race was not all bad except for the hang in the end. Many of the others had trouble however and the track did favor the front end.

I want old Gulfstream back.

Chuck,

Check the replay, Barbaro got THERE by exploding from the gate and looping three horses that tried to get that spot from inside of him. From that post, that was a very good performance and he hooked a \"pit bull\"in Sharp Humor.Obviously goes near the top of the 3yr old class.

Have to agree it was impressive looking. Barbaro even bumped, but it seemed to impede him less than some of the others. It was good to be on front and Matz wasn\'t saving anything here. The horse also overcame the adversity of the post. Agree he had the talent to vitiate that poor hole he drew.

What happened here was a big move forward by the top finishers in my estimation. Before this race some wondered if they were Derby horses and bet accordingly, but the horses improved Large. Now, theres at least 3 bona fide Derby horses coming out of this race. Although, the general public seemd to know that going in...lol

I can\'t say I would be at all surprised to see big figures for the top 2. Barbaro\'s last race was better than the figure indicated and he got a better pace scenario here. Similar situation with Sharp Humor.
Their figs will look like a big jump but were really in line with their previous races.

Chuckles,

I'll take that as a dissenting comment and leave it at that. LOL

Got to be one of the worst fields ever assembled for a million dollar race.
Flashy Bull out run by 4 horses on the 1st turn?

And Victory Lake was also the vitim of a lousy ride.
