No "oomph" late...

BUCKLAND MANOR loomed boldly as the favorite in today\'s San Antonio Handicap at Santa Anita, but then dropped out of it. As he faded, I felt a bit sorry for that one\'s trainer, Paco Gonzalez. Years ago, in the days of FREE HOUSE\'s glory, Gonzalez won at a high rate and his racehorses overachieved. But then came the situation involving FREE HOUSE\'s clenbuterol positive, and since then, Gonzalez\' barn has not been the same. He\'s won at a 3% clip - only 2 races from his last 53 starts! What a turnaround.

BUCKLAND MANOR shows no \"oomph\" late. No \"Oscardrive\" in the final stages of the race. I wonder what he\'d be like with different [that is, later] clenbuterol withdrawal times to help his lungs.

Thanks for this info, John. I\'d been wondering how a trainer who fooled me so completely (CAME HOME) could have fallen on such hard times. BTW, any explaination for one of my favorites, Jack VanBerg, who is batting about 6% these days?

Gary,

You mean beside the fact that he\'s gotten a little old?
