So will the El Camino Real Derby run prior to the Derby pool closing?

I love the forward moving pattern and the breeding of AP Warrior
He is 40-1 going into today and looks like a nice play at that price.

Other thoughts?

40-1 is nice , I was looking for AP to take alot of money . I migh take a flyer on that horse myself at that price . Waiting to see pool#1 odds late in the wagering before putting a couple plays down , Keyed Entry is 73-1 & Socerer\'s Stone 67-1 are 2 that have caught my attention as have Yaughts , Celestial , Silvestris in the Oaks ...

In the Oaks, i like Balance a little. She paired #\'s in the fall and has been competitive in Stakes races. 25-1 looks pretty good to me

Ballance is another who I thought would get alot of attention , 25-1 is pretty good looking though and the great pattern does look compelling . She could be one of the top 3 yo\'s this season ...

What I\'d like to know is when will CDI begin applying \'at the moment\' lock in odds to the Future Bet.. The technology is available in Australia and I believe I read that someone in the US has a working model as well that they are pitching the tracks. I hate getting excited about a horse in these pools only to see him run well over the weekend and have his odds dive. Cause to Believe or AP Warrior could be this weekend\'s versions. You like and bet them at 69-1, you don\'t want to then see the odds drop to 27-1...

Excellent point. The main attraction in future book betting is the odds and, since they can drop so dramatically, being able to lock-in at a good price would be a tremendous incentive.

P.S. Good luck in the contest

I think lock-in odds and parimutual pools are mutually exclusive....need to go to Vegas or the neighborhood bookie for these types of bets.

Absolutely , one can\'t get to involved with para-mutual futures wagering as anything more than a lark and I think  most people already understand that . My best advice , however unsolicited , is to wait untill pools are approaching closing time to see where the money has settled in order to find value when making selections .
