He\'s from Jersey! Are you from Jersey?

At Monmouth Park this Summer, trainer Kelly Breen could do no wrong:
38 wins from 114 starts - 33% winners!

But at Aqueduct this Winter, trainer Kelly Breen isn\'t as smart:
1 winner from 29 starts

S**t happens when your vet changes.

Speaking of streaking barns, the annual Paraneck/Paragallo/ Pedersen 6 week blitz is in full bloom.

Last year, in November and December, the runners from this barn, wearing the faux Phipps black and red silks, struck at a rate of over 20%. Pedersen\'s final stats for 05 were 31 wins from 368 starts, meaning that for 10 months out of the year, she sent out winners at a 2-3% rate. To my cynical yet open mind there is only one explanation for this sort of streakiness, and it has nothing to do with the feed man or the farrier.

If I\'m not mistaken, \"injectibles\" were found in a refrigerator in this barn by NYRA investigators (see Bloodhorse.com 3/4/05)... there can never be an \"innocent\" explanation for this. Soon after, Ernie Paragallo said he was getting out of the game, citing health reasons, kind of like the Michael Gill \"leave me alone/give me the Eclipse or I\'m getting out of the game\" gambit.

The truth is that Paragallo sends out more starters than any other owner on the NYRA circuit, and as such will be given wide berth by the powers that be...

thank god there are other people on this site who have noticed the winter form reversals of certain trainers ,winter track opens all of a sudden paraneck stables and jen peterson look like training genius where is she all year with the racing stock ,ernie paragallo is a wierd person i had the opportunty to meet the man has no personalite at all ,gary contessa is another on fire ,have noticed dutros horses dont have that extra kick this winter, but its goldfarb owned and taking money there alive same could be said with mike husions horses if there taking money and barry k schawarz owned or gene hauman owned there usually a good bet since ernie dalman isa silent partner who does the betting in vegas and you will notice the money !

And of course, something fast will emerge this Winter from the Paragallo barn... that poor animal will be ambitiously entered in one of the pseudo-Derby prep races at Turfway Park on the undercard of their Lane\'s End Stakes Day on March 26th... the animal will make a poorly-timed monster move to take the lead in mid-stretch at huge odds... whereupon the animal will think to itself: \"You mean, I have ANOTHER furlong to run? Ugh. Why wasn\'t I trained for this distance?\"... and in the final sixteenth of a mile, that animal will be passed in a rush by half the field.

It\'s all about stock that fits the condition book.

Ainslie told you all about 100 years ago.

  Get with the program.

Funny you should mention this as I was on top op this about 2-3 weeks ago when I noticed he was off to a VERY slow beginning at the Big A since shipping in when Meadowlands closed.  The only winner he has had was a first time starter filly who won the 2nd race on a Saturday a few weeks ago.  I know the owner and he said she was for sale at what I thought was a reasonable price.  I called two guys up and got no interest in her principally because they didn\'t wanna buy from such a \"great trainer\".  When I tried explaining that he wasn\'t the same guy in NY and that it was actually a GOOD thing to be buying off of him as she was the only horse good enough at the time(at the time he was 1-14) to win for him they didn\'t understand what I meant.  So now hes 1-29?  Geez she looks even better to me now. O\'Neill bought one one off him and ran her back in the race that Adieu prepped in for the BC.  She was way up the track and from what I understand they paid a hell of a lot of money for her. She was a NJ bred.
