TGJB,

If after further research was performed and it was discovered that there had been major performance enhancements given to numerous successful horses by numerous successful trainers but had been previously undetectable.

Do you think that all significant previous records should be struck from the record book and would you even go so far as editing individual horses SHEETS no longer using figures but the term \"vacated\".

Similar to what happened with Villanova in the NCAA record book with the Howard Porter incident years ago.

TGJB

SC-- I think they would have to prove something was used in individual cases before they would act in any way, as they do now by redistributing the purse money. Personally, I would love to see them give my clients purse money for every time we\'ve been beaten by a horse getting help (whether illegal or something that should be). Pretty sure we would get second money in the BC Classic.

There really isn\'t specific evidence that Montgomery was using the day he set the World Record in the 100 Meters only that he was going thru Balco/Allday and his record is be struck from history.

Barry Irwin

The drugs Balco specialized in did not have to be used on the day of a performance to be effective.

Please Barry you don\'t want to go there with me ok. I\'m the Woody Page of this Board in case you didn\'t know and a battle of wits is not in your self-fulfilling, in denial self-interest.

Steroids and derivatives such as Andro increase an athletes performance, when used over a period of time. Know one knows when Montgomery started using Balco supplied medications to make himself faster only that he used them. Get the point.......stupid.

Also what everyone does know is that when numerous smart savvy connections turned down the chance to purchase Captain Bodgit, you hired \"rogue\" Vet the late Doc Alex Harthill to make an assessment. The bulging bowed tendon that the Captain had was declared no problem to \"treat\". Perhaps it was after that point you and \"The Doc\" exchanged all those stories you boasted about having horses \"lit up\" in your Bloodhorse Story.

Thereby you spoke loud and clear once again, the best set of standards and integrity to have is \"none at all\".........

Barry Irwin

I will admit to being so stupid as not to know the identity of Woody Page.

However, when it comes to the sport of track and field, I would pit my knowledge of it against most anybody, as I have a background in it not only as an athlete, but as a lifelong fan.

I have followed the BALCO case since it first made headlines and would feel fairly confident that I have read most everything written about it that has appeared on line.

When it comes to drugs and steroids, I have excellent knowledge as well.

As for my relationship with Dr. Alex Harthill, your inability to understand what I wrote says more about what you brought to the reading than what was written.

You don\'t have the first clue about the condition of Captain Bodgit\'s legs when he was bought by Team Valor, so anything coming out of your pie hole is just canned filling.

It is nothing if not ironic that the name you have chosen to hide behind is that of the horse that beat Captain Bodgit in the Kentucky Derby during an era when a test for clenbuterol was unavailable in the State of Kentucky and rumors of a direct injection of that drug into the trachea of your namesake is generally attributed to his success in the Triple Crown.

Finally, before calling anybody stupid, learn to write, spell, punctuate and think.

Easy Goer

Excuse me for a moment, but if I bought Captain Bodgit for $500,000, won the Grade 1 Florida Derby, the Wood Memorial, ran second in the Kentucky Derby, and third in the Preakness Stakes and Fountain of Youth Stakes and sold him based on $2.5 million, then what does that make me, if all those numerous folks who passed up buying the colt were \"smart and savvy?\"

Barry what you said and what someone else then wrote for you, was you don\'t really condone some of the ethical practices of the late Doc Alex Harthill but whenever you needed a evaluation and a good Vet you had no problem having him work for you. Barry before you got into horse racing did you grow wanting to be a Cardinal Catholic Priest.

Oh by the way care to mention some of the stories Harthill and you exchanged about \"lit up runners\". Harthill has passed away so no one should really care, right?? Certainly not the Trainers, Owners and Players who got beat out of possible winnings because of something both of you thought was funny.......
