I think the 7 was the Kentucky Derby where he got left at the start, bulled his way between horses, dueled in a fast pace, and won with a little something left.

That\'s the kind of trip that would cause most Grade 1 horses to get eased late because they are so well beaten. :-)

TGJB: I was using Ragozin at the time. He gave SS 7s through the TC, much better at 4 (a neg 2 in the Marlboro Cup).

Thanks for clearing that up. I would have guessed (perhaps even wagered) that his PREAKNESS would have come up much better than his Derby or Belmont.
