Miff and Jimbo, you are right, but---

My girlfriend went to Yale, and has written two books on the Middle East. But you know what? She doesn\'t read this board. So-- CH, YOU ARGUE LIKE A WOMAN. You say A, I answer A, you switch to B, I answer B, so you switch to C, I answer that and you go back to A.

Maybe I\'ll throw myself off the board for sexism. I could use the rest.

We are still waiting for ground from a couple of other guys we had look at the Derby, but the preliminary look has top two running around zero, and it\'s solid both with the day and the race itself-- we\'ll post the whole day when it\'s done, you can all see. The much more interesting (and tough) question is the rail-- I\'m not done with that yet.

CH-- we\'re not having a general discussion about pace. We\'re having a very specific discussion about specific comments you made (some of which I quoted), to which I specifically responded, and gave specific evidence months ago to, and argued with specifically. And I\'m done with it. You want to claim you are a pace martyr, go right ahead.

TGJB

TGJB,

>You want to claim you are a pace martyr, go right ahead.<

If pace is not the issue, why don\'t you try listening to what I am saying for once so you\'ll understand it better. Heck, you\'ve been saying that about me for months and it\'s obviously a 2 way street.

No bull, I had you giving the winner app a zero. Raw time has this one of the slowest KD\'s in years relative to the rather glib surface.Without ground and with the hot pace, the race comes up dead slow.Slowest last half since 1974, I read.

If you get a chance, replay some of the dirt races and watch John V and Bailey, especially, avoid the rail and stay 3-4 path allowing room inside.I just looked and I can\'t be certain about the rail.

TGJB

Miff-- there was a strong 9:00 wind helping the 6 1/2 and 7f races and hurting the Derby (those fractions were indeed very fast), but we\'ll put the whole thing up tomorrow or the next day.

If you give the dead rail, I pretty much get stuck with HL no matter what.

Let the record show I was the first to say this race gets a 0 or a 1, not not a neg #. LOL

P.Eckhart

Beyer thought it slow too, resulting in him him giving out 100 instead of the correct 107. :-)

beyerguy

When did 0 become slow?  :)

I don\'t see any way these horses could get a 107 when you factor in that Beyer doesn\'t consider ground loss, the winner and runner up lost plenty of ground.

Silver Charm

This was a bad, slow Derby. The race collapsed.

P.Eckhart

If Beyer truly doesn\'t consider ground then the projection for him is really simple. The internal collateral form is solid. Wilko & Buzzards Bay ran to millimeteres of the SA Derby form as did Ark Derby runners Afleet Alex, Andromedas Hero & Flower Alley. Guess what? These two races tie up here also on back Beyer numbers so there is no dilemma as to which you go with. So, 5 of the top 9 tie in. Yet, according to Beyer ALL 5 tie in but all run WORSE than their preps; notably Wilko with a lifetime worst and Afleet Alex 10 points worse than Ark prep. Sorry, no thank you.

Chuckles_the_Clown2

10 Beyer points is how many lengths about 5?

I think Beyer was very close to getting this one right.

Wilko bled and may not want real ground. The race is reasonable upon Pace, Bounce, Bias and Injury.

Linda

I would like to know how anyone could confuse me with someone like classhandicapper. I must say I don\'t consider it a compliment. I know I\'m what you guys call a lurker because I haven\'t posted very often. That\'s because I agree with the gentleman who says it would be better if people only posted when they had something interesting to say. The times I did post I thought people agreed with what I had to say. Maybe you guys haven\'t noticed there are some very good trainers jockeys and owners who are women. Does the name Judy Wagner ring a bell with anyone? I know Judy and I think she could handicap the pants off some of the guys who post and post and post and post the same thing over and over again. Others, I\'m not so sure. Intuition is important for handicapping and a lot of you guys should already know to always, and I mean always, trust a woman\'s intuition.

TGJB

Linda-- I think there are a whole lot of guys who post here that would be a lot less irritable if they could find a woman who would handicap the pants off them.

Hopefully you got the spirit of my original post-- I\'m on your side. And yes, we could use more like you, who only post when they have something to say.

But Judy uses the other guy\'s sheets, last I heard.

lol

Linda, who did Judy pick in the Derby and what did she think of Bellamania and Sun King?

p.s. tell her to come on over here where the posting though sometimes heated is many times pure race related. That may help her but im sure she can up her game with better figures.

Wish I coulda got 23-1 on my bet that the Derby gets a 0 or a 1. Instead I got 23-1 on the horse who finished last.
