If we can take a break from which is better Rag or TG (like everyone will be convinced one way or another in our lifetime....), has anyone got thoughts about the Met Mile?

I\'m hearing a good chance of rain tonight and higher chance tomorrow....would they move this race to the dirt?  I would doubt it, but...

guess i\'ll go watch the Indy 500 and handicap the race and post back with my thoughts in a bit.  just as well get my thoughts out in the open so i can learn from others...

Well I don\'t think my predictions will be earth shattering, but to be on the record...

I\'m going back and forth between Left Bank and Affirmed Success to win...I think overall Left Bank is better, but at a mile I think Affirmed Success might be better and if the track is muddy I would also pick AS over LB.  My only concern about AS is the age of 8 years...but if he\'s in great shape that might not be a concern.

Third horse I like is Burning Roma (don\'t see him winning)...maybe in the money.

Beyond that nothing else I see as a contender.  Some horses with flashes of speed, but nothing consistent that I see.  I\'m a little surprised at the number of horses who haven\'t even gone a mile.

Good luck to anyone betting on this one.

George,
I don\'t usually pay too much mind to the jockey moves, but when I was reviewing the Met Mile the question that came to my mind is why is Bailey taking Aldebaran-a horse he\'s never ridden & that\'s unproven for this distance & surface-over Burning Roma, his pal Mott\'s entry that he rode in the G1 Carter last month?

Still though, I like Left Bank. But there is some speed in here and this distance at this meet seems to be less speed-biased than some of the longer distances, so if the odds are right, I\'ll put a small wager on Aldebaran as my closer (instead of Burning Roma, another one who looks like he comes on late) because I think Bailey and his agent know a thing or two about horseflesh.

Any way you slice it, this looks like a contentious race and there are several here that could take it and it wouldn\'t shock me-namely Crafty CT or Affirmed Success-but the bulk of my bank will be on Left Bank.
Good luck!
