Just listened to Nick Zito on \"Mike and the Mad Dog.\"  He said the usual neutral things.  They asked him two questions that were interesting.

\"Can Bellamy Road rate?\"

NZ - \"I hope so.  We\'ll see.\"

\"Who impressed you this week, if anyone?\"

NZ (paraphrasing) - \"High Limit.\"

High Limit was the only horse he had any specific favorable comments on.  Said he was \"very impressed.\"

Mike Francesca\'s knowledge of racing starts with the back of the horse.

Don\'t forget,HP. Crist and Beyer absolutely hate HIGH LIMIT.

One horseplayer\'s story/experience with trainers doing Derby handicapping:
I once got through to the \"Mike & the Mad Dog show at a time when they had Johnny Campo on as their guest the nite before the Derby. I asked Campo if he thought BET TWICE could hit the board and he told me that the horse had no shot to finish in the top 5.

I took the info for what I thought it was worth and proceeded to double my across the board and exacta bets (using ALYSHEBA).

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I agree with everything you say, Joe, except Zito is not John Campo.  It was hard to get him to say ANYTHING, and that was the only horse he commented on.  Just thought I\'d pass it along.  HP

High Limit\'s best chance is if BR gets strung out wide 1st turn, rates, and throws in the towel fairly early without being a major factor. Maybe he can get the rail and sit a nice trip until all the cheap speed dies. I don\'t like his chances, but the only way I can see him winning is with a very fortunate trip (or a super cocktail). :-)

Go HIGH LIMIT and FLOWER ALLEY

Since Crist and Beyer hate High Limit, he will probably do quite well...LMFAO!

Except for FuPeg when was the last time any of those clowns at the DRF publicly picked the winner of the Derby?

Joe B.,

FYI...Mike Owns thoroughbreds and his stable name is Summerwind Stable(ie of Pope of Greenwich village fame). And Mike is always at Saratoga. He knows a few things about horses.

Anyway, What about an All italian name Triple....Bandini, Giacomo, and Wilko.....for a $1 box....LOL

Some hard core Sinatra fans might be upset with your associating \"Summerwind\" with the movie Pope of Greenwich Village. It was the Old Blue Eyes song which opened and closed the movie.

If you haven\'t seen PGV, while it is only peripherally about thoroughbred racing, its quite entertaining, especially Eric Roberts\' commentaries on the theories of breeding and
his critique of the colors his partner has chosen for their racing silks.

This movie was filmed on location in Greenwich Village, Monmouth Park and Tampa Bay Downs

Nc Tony--

A lot of people own horses and a lot of people go to Saratoga every year. Not sure it means they know anything.

French Fry Francesa knows zero, trust me.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

RICH

come on Tony, I\'m listening to him every day. He thinks he knows horses, he knows nothing compared to a real horseplayer. I don\'t care how many horses he owns. He is not one of us.

NoCarolinaTony

Richiebee,

I hear you about Sinatra, I just knew where he got the name for his stable.

When\'s Monmouth open....?

Yes it was a very entertaining movie. Also fun to watch was Wise Guys with Joe Piscopo and Danny Divito....thank you Mr Acavano!!!

JB:

To be diplomatic, Francesa\'s knowledge of racing hasn\'t caught up to his knowledge of other sports, and his obnoxious partner is so clueless he shouldn\'t even be let into a room where racing is being discussed.

You would think Francesa would use some of his influence to get 1/2 hour to 1 hour per week of racing on the FAN.

  Good luck tomorrow to all.

I am not a \"BIG\" Mike fan or his loudmouth side kick for that matter. Mike is certainly not one of us. He think\'s he\'s better, but I really didn\'t want to get into them at all, I was trying to clarify that he knew something about horses besides it\'s back end....lol

Monmouth opens next Saturday.  Can\'t wait.  George Handy (old trainer if you never heard of him) once said, Saratoga is for people who don\'t know about Monmouth Park.
