The following was posted by Indulto on the Ragozin site this afternoon. Now, I have commented on his writing before, but I won\'t this time-- great writing speaks for itself. I think one reference in there is to a comment I made on the \"Derby Dope\" string, other than that I\'m open to translations. Anybody?



Self Indulgent Children (SIC?)

In a rare convergence of parallel universes, I was exposed to a "bait and stroke" experience similar to that of my usual opponent, though mine was off-board and hardly on the same "scale". In my case, the Ex-Pres. (XPrs) complained of treatment not unlike T.J. Simers' son-in-law, "The Bagger" ["stroke"] even as he offered me tidbits of cyber-events he knew I would find irresistible [" bait"].

Given the fruit of said activity, I wish to applaud an unusual self-deprecating proclamation issued elsewhere, and to denounce a suspected, same-board-baiting of said poster by a shape-shifting, supposed supporter.

Rightly or wrongly, Dan Rather's legacy is newly-focused attention on the credibility of individual journalists even as web-based sources continually attempt to discredit their stories. For the second time in several months, the DRF's Matt Hegarty (MH) has come under attack on the website message board of a DRF competitor in response to his use of R-words in his columns.

The primary antagonist (PA) apparently feels free to denigrate MH's motives and objectivity using contexts in which some may find his charges convincing. The first R-word, "Rebate", is a repeat offender and much has already been made of MH's infamous and notorious "negativity" on that subject.

The new R-word with respect to MH, however, is "Ragozin" as apparently exception was taken to MH's quoting of a representative of that organization, but none of its competitors. XPrs pointed out that 1) Similar dissatisfaction had been expressed by the PA with a previous DRF article in which MH quoted the representative of a single "rebate shop", but none from any of its competitors, and 2) "P-Val supporters are guilty of a similar practice when they echo the refrain 'he always rides to win', implying that others do not."

In light of such impeccable logic, it would be improper to attribute any re-baited reaction to petty jealousy.

This is a topic right up Silver Charms alley, but I\'ll chime in.

He thinks he\'s creative. That\'s got to count for something.

Hegarty\'s article was as rambling as Indulto\'s post in my view.

Indulto\'s reference to Freidman was as odd as Hegarty\'s quote of the man. Apparently, Freidman\'s position is that the detention barn is no sanction and that additional positives are no more likely to be detected by a trainer under detention. All things considered thats an interesting position.

I guess Indulto\'s main point was that you were jealous of the fine press Freidman received. Seems to me they both could have used their 15 seconds more wisely.

As far as Indulto goes, no one has ever used so many big words to say so little. I read his stuff two or three times and still never know what he just said.

My compliments towards Len for being recognized in the Hegarty article were because he spoke up. Beyer spoke up. Jerry Brown SCREAMED. Same message, but big difference in decibels. If the power players in the game don't speak up then the war is doomed to be lost. Don\'t be short-sited,in the long everyone will benefit.
 
TGJB please stay on top of the Churchill security issue. Every time I see Governor Ernie Fletcher in that DRF picture I keep thinking I am looking at Col. Klink. With a Sgt. Shultz security detail in place ("I know nothing") and Vets roaming in and out of barns and stalls like Col Hogan, Lebeou and Co., this backstretch has the look of Stalag 17.

"No Vets have ever been caught and prosecuted on our Derby Week backstretch for over thirty years. We are Clean."  Yeah right Col. Klink.

you make perfect sense, and I agree 100
%....but one question for all readers of htis board - is it just me or doea it seem like \"favorite city\" has cropped up with few exceptions at all tracks this spring...coincidence since testing has gotten so much press?

Generally speaking that may be true and ho - hum might be the order of the day but since the milkshaking issue has become a news worthy item , I\'ve found myself having (just about) some of the best day\'s as ever - specially in those races where the favorite\'s are out of the top spot or out of the money alltogether . Everywhere I go as of late \'graphies and serious bettors are smiling and breathing alot easier ...
