Excellent post by LF on the Ragozin site about rebates. Len-- you should give some thought to sending that as a letter to the editor of the DRF.

I also thought it was very good, & 2nd your suggestion. After reading it I promised myself that I would never complain again about being pickpocketed of my entire bankroll at CD the day FuPeg won the Derby. Getting robbed once on the way home from the races has to suck big time. Not sure appropriate words have been invented for more than once. btw, Bill Finley has a very good piece on rebates at espn.com, one I\'m guessing his bosses at the Times decided not to publish.

I always enjoy learning something I didn\'t know, but would caution against dropping the current slogan in favor of \"Thorograph. The longbow of handicapping.\" Unless, of course, it\'s part of a plan which targets medieval history professors who are also handicappers. I\'ve never met or heard of one, but there\'s got to be a few out there somewhere.

Mall-- I just read the Finley piece, and it was good-- especially the part about crap going on with Wall street, and no one suggesting shutting down the stock market.

Many years ago I was down in Atlantic City with Friedman and another guy for a couple of weeks to play at the track there, which was still doing well. I came back before the other guys because I had work to do in Ragozin\'s office, and I left some bets with Len and went straight to Perry St. (pre 11th st.). When they got back from the track (night track), Len called me to tell me how I made out (it wasn\'t easy to get results from out of town tracks in those days). About 30 seconds into the call I hear another voice say, \"Hang up the phone and put your hands up\". I thought it was the TV, until the phone went dead.

So I called Ragozin into the room, told him LF was being robbed, and we started calling on two phones to try to get the number and reach the Atlantic City police department. I got through, told them what was going on, and they asked for the address. I told them, and they told me Len was technically in Ventnor, but they would be glad to give me the number of the local police to call. I did so, and the cops got over to the location. Total elapsed time, about 5 minutes-- but they missed the guys with guns who followed Len back from the track by about a minute.

Someone on the other board should get Len to tell the other story, the one where Len chased a guy who robbed him up Perry St., despite having his hands handcuffed behind his back. But it\'s his story to tell.

You guys should just kiss and make up!

It\'s terrible when such good friends have a falling out. Life is too short for this crap.

There\'s got to be way to put the past behind you, co-exist as business competitors, and still be friends.

I second CH\'s opinion. Granted, I do not know much about the falling outs that have created the animosity and ill feelings, but it seems like time has come. This does not mean you guys have to go out clubhopping on Friday nights or anything. Please understand, Im not trying to tell anyone how to live their life eiher. As a Raggie, I know for a fact that the Sheets work. As an avid fan of this site/board also and judging from the ROTW and testimonials (which I believe) and other information, I am almost certain Thorograph works as well.

With so many other hucksters spouting such garbage about pace/class/breeding and things that merely give the illusion of truth without results, you guys stand above the rest. The data that the two companies distribute are the pinnacle of this game, and all who use it are so lucky to have such an edge. Despite the differences in methodology, what I appreciate the most is the handicapping brilliance that both Len and Jerry have brought to the game. Listening to, and reading your opinions have done so much for my game (condition handicapping especially) and I am sure everyone who has had the pleasure of experiencing your opinions can say the same. You guys (Ragozin included) are the three people I really look up to in this crazy thing we call betting horses. When you or Len post an opinion, agree or disagree, I always pay attention. You\'ve earned that level of respect. You should enjoy it.

As I said before, I am definitely not trying to tell anyone how to live their life, and I do not profess to know the whole story. But as someone who just wants the world to love one another and be happy, I have to throw my two cents in. And as someone who just got out of the hospital, I know that life\'s too short to hold grudges. It was tough watching all of those longshots win on NBC from my bed. Back to work Friday!!!

Overlays to all and to all a good night!!!
