Wow 4/5 seems short but if he runs his race who else is there? A gassed up
(blitzing works) Bullet Bob horse? Well he has won it about 10 times. The Air is fresher by the Jersey Shore. I love the Haskel. Brings back great memories

If these other Stakes Races hold together they have put together a great Card at Mth. And for $500,000 or more one would think it will. Saratoga is filled with horse it looks like too. Chasing those $125,000 allowance races. Perfect weather. This Saturday Racing surely Wins!!

It\'s time for Burnham Square to exact some Derby revenge. On figs going into the Derby BS was on par with Sovereignty, Journalism and Baeza. But for his godawful trip he\'d have been in the mix at the wire. At 5/1- it\'s time for me to recoup the losses.  He ran well in the Matt Winn at CD last out- but 1 1/16th is too short for him. 9f should suffice on Saturday- then on to the Travers

Like Gosger in this spot cutting back to 9 panels. If Saez can get him a similar trip like in the Preakness, should be tough. Has had lots of time off, and I think Burnham Square will be a a strong second choice. Journalism should romp, but at 1/5-2/5 odds, willing to toss him and play Gosger on top or box him w/ Burnham Square & Goal Oriented.

Journalism ran his final two 1/16s in 6.12 and 6.16. He inhaled two good horses, and they were still running.

On to the Pacific Classic is my guess.

Crazy good horse yet Sovereignty passed him easily twice.
Part of me hopes they skip the Travers.

Does anyone think that the ride / trip that Journalism received in the Haskell was by design? Sit off 8-10 lengths & make one run, while following Gosger?

With Sovereignty having beating him twice after Journalism got first run on him, if a next race between these to happens, does anyone wonder if they will change tactics and try to run down Sovereignty ? Let Sovereignty get first run?
Or is that a recipe for defeat. They are two of the nicest 3 year old colts this year and might not be much separating them. Maybe it does come down to racing tactics & strategy.

It looked like Rispoli was getting after Journalism for much of the race. I\'m not sure they wanted to be too far back. It was a pretty good pace too.

Btw, I think this 3 yr old division might be even more interesting by 5:45 Saturday.

The rider switch on Baeza is interesting. Berrios has given him some pretty good rides. Making the flight east. Sandman loses Johnny V. & picks up  J.Ortiz.

Mott was not to worried losing a Grade 1 in Florida when prepping for the Kentucky Derby. I believe he has never won a Travers, and would think that he would use this more as a prep like they did in Florida, to win the \"big one\".

Sandman & Hill Road might be worth a win wager. Baeza will be a strong second choice I think.

Who do you think is going to make it interesting?

Have not looked at any numbers
BUT
Really is no speed except?
I am also wondering to a extent if Sovereignty likes some
Moisture in the track.

Roman

I suspect he does not care for Gulfstream Park\'s dirt course, which were fast dry tracks. His action at Churchill & Saratoga  look way more efficient on those tracks to the naked eye.
