Now that the bill has passed, care to comment on how things in racing may change?  Or is it just more window dressing?  Thanks.  T.

It’s too soon to know. A lot depends on who ends up on the board.

I was wrong. I thought the bill created a board that would have the power to ban Lasix. It actually bans Lasix, which is a disaster for horseplayers, among others in the industry.

No exceptions here? While Lasix as a masking agent can be discussed there are legitimate medical uses that benefit the horse.

Plenty of misconceptions about the bill floating around. 65 pages but fairly easy reading.
Here is a copy. https://www.congress.gov/116/bills/s4547/BILLS-116s4547is.pdf

One of the implications of all that’s going on is that come Jan 1 we’re going to be dealing with tons of horses that are first time Lasix, and horses going on and off Lasix as they go into and out of stake races.

Re right at the end. I want to know who this “public”’that’s against Lasix is, and how they know that.
