Vekoma, Maximum Security two potential early leaders side-by-side.

MS drew well with speed to his inside.

Don\'t see how Game Winner is anything but 5 wide on the turn.

I know Win Win Win had a rough trip and all, but why is he 15-1 with a worse post than Vekoma (20-1), who handled him well in BG? Strange.

To point out the obvious:

1. #1 War Of Wills doesn\'t want to be squeezed on the rail and c/b the 1st call leader.

2. There are no early launchers between #6 Vekoma, #7 Maximum Security and #12 Omaha Beach. Those three don\'t seem to be compromised too much by the draw.

3. #16 Game Winner, #17 Roadster, will need the skills of their pilots.

4. #18 Long Rang Toddy, and  #18 Spinoff both who had some fans are now in deep, make that wide.

5. Can\'t complain #2 Tax (?), #3 By My Standards,  #5 Improbable (gets kickback), #8 Tacitus,

If Servis breaks clean he will be on the lead.

I think Maximum Security gets the Justify-like trip right outside of Vekoma or he can take the lead if Vekoma does not go to the front. I also think Manny is going to send Spinoff from that outside post. Spinoff has been bounced around at the start a couple of times and his best chance might to try to get the lead.

Well now, a somewhat bold assertion and you\'re the expert.

That\'s a concern for me in so much as I make Maximum Secrity strong late in the race. As much as I don\'t like the prospect of Servis winning, 10/1 ain\'t bad.

The well worn tactic for beating a front runner is to out run them early, so now I can speculate the Baffert squad may send Improbable assuming he doesn\'t want to be catching kick back behind horses anyway. And the other two don\'t want the early speed to have everything their own way.

I would be shocked if either Irad or Castellano sent going this far to engage a horse with sprint speed, they\'re much more likely to try to sit off him. Smith is a different story, in stakes the last few years he tends to try to put his horses in the race early. He\'ll be close, assuming the AE doesn\'t get in and nothing crazy happens at the start he\'s the only other one who could make the lead.

So Max Security gets an “easy lead?”  What about War of Will and Improbable, both seem to need room to run/hate kick back.  They should be right off the #7 if possible.  And I agree Spinnoff is sent as well, throw in Vekema and those should be the first wave, and recent history says that’s the group to pay attention to.  What does Tax do from inside?
