How do they race today???

Strong winds, several inches of rain.

Mandatory pick 6 payout.

No turf races, track was sealed last night--should be like asphalt.

Hate to buy sheets and handicap if the card gets cancelled--anyone have any insight?

On an unrelated note, how do we take Baffert\'s current funk? He\'s winning about 5 from about 40 entries. I remember a few years ago he went through a similar stage where he even had a few horses drop dead, quite literally. He still won the triple drown that year though. Does the funk not apply to his big guns? Should I not even think about this and just read the sheet as per normal handicapping? Yesterday I actually tossed Solomini in horizontals, he was like 3-5 or something. Going to feel stupid when/if his big guns air today in the slop today. If I don\'t have any info. and a very small sample size, it could just be nothing much really. Still you only make $ in racing if you seize the trend before everybody else catches on. Am I making much ado about nothing much???

Dana, I\'m not trying to play \"typo police\" here because we\'re all guilty of jumbling neighboring letters on a keyboard, especially phones.  But, this particular typing malaprop is worth noting because it contains one of the more macabre unintentional realignment of letters that I can remember.

i don\'t get it but i don\'t mind being corrected--you can play typo police it\'s ok with me

what did i say, the year he won the first triple crown with pharoah he had a couple horses die over the winter early sping at santa anita--that\'s what i was thinking of and it was similar funk that his barn seemed to go through

if i\'m really wrong his horses will air today, right? i just want to know either way so i can play the pick with some confidence lol

With regard to the Baffert trainees murder mystery I believe the deceased were principally young horses, not even in competition yet. Probably a good example of \"whatever does not kill you makes you stronger\" applies to horses too.

Next, racing on a swampy track: A. Low humidity SoCal dries out quickly. B. Generally front runners have the advantage of no kick back in the wet and imo it\'s significant. C. Bob Baffert trains horses to out run their competition consequently they generally run from the front. Pass me if you can.

Bob Baffert\'s slump. Well slumps usually end. Sometimes in a breakout weekend. Yet a slump for Baffert sure is curious. By all reports he\'s more loaded with talent this year than ever before. Maybe the individuals aren\'t getting enough attention.

It\'s like trying to pick out the date of a jump up performnce. We can discern the jumpup is coming but not necessarily when (today\'s race?). Investing in a slumping trainer at underlaid prices just doesn\'t make sense.

Previous facts and the belief that BB wins virtually all the time is a powerful persuasion. Consider you don\'t have to play all the races, some folks just look to discover a few legit overlays. Keep it simple, it is dry, calm and sunny in Oldsmar (Tampa Downs).

\"He still won the triple drown\"
