Up until now I didn\'t believe that they did sectional (pace) timing in Europe or the U.K. However I noticed today while watching the racing from Newcastle on TVG that they were timing the individual furlongs of the race. That would really introduce an additional precise element to pace handicapping - even here in the U.S..

I wonder if any of the U.K. PPs include these splits?

They provide fractions for some, I emphasise, some of the races. Like all UK racing, it\'s a crapshoot what information you get. Maybe a replay, maybe not. Maybe fractions, maybe not.

I wouldn\'t put too much stock in time though. There are so many wild fluctuations between courses and conditions over there, they\'re not comparable, but it helps a little for sure.
