Baffert\'s horses aren\'t exactly tearing it up at CD last two days.

Has O\'Brien ever won a race on an off track? I guess that\'s not a comment...

Some very good horses aren\'t firing at all over this surface.

Adverse conditions give an excuse to horses that might be looking for one to spit it out, and favor those with good patterns. The two \"B\" seminar horses with good patterns (who shall remain nameless here) are starting to look better to me. There\'s a decent chance at least some of the fast ones won\'t fire.

NBC Commentators seem to be lost. Realizing all bets are off. No pun intended. Randy trying to be stoic. Jerry Bailey claiming Justify will be dazed and confused.

National Anthem was different.

Silver Charm

Wettest Derby in history. 2.70 inches of rain. Hard to project anything. Favoring speed? Favoring inside, outside? No way to know with one sloppy race on main track in last 3.5 hours...

I don\'t see a lake. Traditionally sheen at the rail is the golden path these days.

This Derby will probably feature extreme chaos: 70- and 80-to-1 longshots hitting the tri. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria.

If I could figure out which horse to key on this track, I would make some bets with the ALL button, but coming up with something predictable is hard this year.

I played the 9 fairly hard and he got beat by two 30-1 shots..  I can already see the writing on the wall for this Derby day.

Another data point in favor of not putting together Derby plays in March

Now you all know in the end who it’s going to be don’t you? My Boy Jack. How is it that over $6M knows why Jack’s 6-1 and the sharpies on this board don’t? God I hate sloppy derbies.

P.S. - This brings all of those distance challenged front runners deep into the mix. Same as last year.

On the bright side, there\'s a pretty good chance of an almost $3M pick5 carryover
