Somebody just dumped enough cash on #6 to make it 1/9.

Now the pool is tiny and the horse looks to have a small chance to win.

So what the Heck is going on?

So the #6 floats up to even money. Then runs 4th. Somebody looses 4G\'s and the playable #2 gets under the radar and wins @ 23/1.

Sha Tin is a few hours and the tote virtually never moves!

Limousine Liberal ran one hell of a race to lose in today\'s Phoenix @ Kee. Tying track record 1:08.2 while getting nosed by A.P. Indian.

Fairmount1

R1:  Mutuel pool=$10249.00  (exacta pool, $7957.00)
R2:  Mutuel pool=$8254.00  (exacta pool, $9010.00)
R3:  Mutuel pool=$19,317.00  (exacta pool, $15,455.00)

R3 was won by #2 paying $48.20 and the #6 ran 4th to complete the superfecta at odds of even money, $1.00-1.

I recall reading in a book once about the recently mentioned Ernie Dahlmann that:

\"Sometimes I\'ll bet $2000 to win on a horse when the window opens at a smaller track and the analyst they have will say, \'Wow, this horse is 1-9, there\'s no value there...\' Well, he\'s 1-9 b/c I bet $2k on him he\'s not going off at 1-9.  If he was then I wouldn\'t bet him either.  So on tv he\'s giving out different horses than he would have because my horse is 1-9 and he might end up at 4-5, and then he\'ll win and they\'ll say, \'Well if I knew he was going to be 4-5 I would have picked him.\'

As for Liberal Limousine, note the following:

Alw win at Ellis in July, 2015:  Track record 1:07.89

King\'s Bishop, 2nd place:  Stakes record by Runhappy, 1:20.54 (LL 4 lengths back).
King\'s Bishop was first run in 1984.

Phoenix today, 2nd place:  Track record by A.P. Indian, 1:08.43 (LL nose back).
The Phoenix is the oldest race run in America reportedly being run since 1831......

Obviously track variants matter for determining speed figures but LL has been in some fast races by the clock.....unlucky for sure a few times.

EDIT:  The track records for Keeneland started anew once they replaced the polytrack about 5 meets ago.

I\'m a fan of LL. His record doesn\'t match up with how well he\'s run on occasion. I tend to judge from the point of view of \"how good is your good\" and this one\'s \"good\" is pretty darn good imo.

Unfortunately my wallet is in the same boat, I\'ve played him on top multiple times in \"bigger\" spots and have yet to trade a ticket for cash. His day will come, though you can\'t run much better than he did last out and not come away with the win..
