It\'s nice to wake up and see a couple of well thought out posts by Patrick & Tavasco.

My final draft of a pick 4 ticket will depend a lot on what goes on throughout the day today. The past 2 days saw a couple of wire to wire winners on the main track and a couple of speed horses who have run well. I\'m far from a pace guru but I\'ll call the past 2 cards neutral where there was a definite advantage to sweeping off the pace moves on the main for the first 5 cards of the meet. Beeks coast to coast journey in a 3 yr old maiden heat yesterday produced a very decent raw time. I\'m sure they will be taking a little off the top of the surface today for a big Saturday card. I\'ll also be watching the water wagons closely especially since there will be 3 hours between the dirt sprints of the Amsterdam & Vanderbilt with all green in between.

All that pace info and 3 Navarro horses in the Vanderbilt! If ever a race horse needed re hab and counseling it would be Chublicious moving from the Preciado barn to Navarro\'s?

As we shake off some tough beats and a bit of vodka this morning we\'ll start the day with a Yogi Berra reminder that 90 % of this game is 1/2 mental.

Race 8: I must have banged my head tossing a Chad off a nice pair on the grass but WHY didn\'t this horse win his past 2 races? Captain Moss is pretty obvious from the fence if you ever read a sheet, Idiosyncratic goes 2nd off a long stint on the bench, Muhaawer is fresh for KM and will be 1/2 the ML or less and my friend Roddy V has an Olympic import that has won at 5f and 1 1/4, first lasix.

Race 9: The Vanderbilt
Tough heat, one could make a legitimate argument for any of the first 6. Delta Bluesman seems to be the speed of the speedsters and the early races as well as water trucks in the 3 hours in between will determine what % of the ticket he gets. Anchor Down is an interesting turn back who should sit a perfect trip behind the speed. Holy Boss ran a knockout number here last year in the Amsterdam. His 3 this year could have been better, one can make some level of excuses in 2 of them, has 50 days since his last and should sit right off Delta.

Race 10: The Jim Dandy
Mohaymen\'s major objective is the Travers but IMHO he needs more than a tune up since the Derby, he needs a forward move and KM fresh at this meet!!!! Destin will be used to a lesser extent.

Race 11: Anti Chad, Anti Pletcher
A couple of OUCHIE throw away\'s that will be bet.
Newcomb drops for a tag off some not quite good enough front end efforts.
NOTE to Florent Geroux, when the gate opens drop your hands and GO!!!
Glory to Kitten drops as well for Ken Ramsey as he hopes his gap toothed smile will be in the winners circle. (stole that line from Jimbo)
Mo\'s Ginny is heading south and should make a good late run.

30,000 plus live, less humidity and a 20 million dollar plus handle to fire away at today fueled by a pick 6 that should top 2 mil. Why would anyone want to be anyplace else in the world?

Good luck,

Frank D.

I agree with you on Mohaymen. Will be a fair price (for him)as plenty of people will be trying to get their money back on Destin and scared to bet against him.

Late May foal wasn\'t pushed much early spring. Still isn\'t being drilled hard in his works but has had plenty of time to develop. Has a resume better than anyone, hottest trainer, and best pedigree. Today is the day for him against a very solid field

Requite looks up against it in the Vanderbilt on # power but he\'s a lightly raced horse who was shelved(hoof issues) after last years Amsterdam.

Came back healthy off the long layoff pairing up his 3yo #\'s.
2nd race back I\'m hoping for the bust out race at 12-1 ML in his seventh career start.

Agree with Mohaymen in the Dandy.

Race me home is a tad bit interesting although I\'m leaning toward its the end of the line for now although he hasn\'t gone backward yet either and I think another two point jump might put him there.

Wrongly

I agree on Requite and I\'m going to use Grand Tito to wire the field crushing 3/4 of the pk6 tixs.
