Since TGJB is interested in many sports and today is a little slow maybe he\'ll let this post slide.

In a few minutes T.V.  Coverage of this years U.S. Open Golf Tourniquet airs. They are playing at what is my favorite course Oakmont C.C. Pa.

On my first round, the the first hole. As I lined up my approach shot to the par four green, my host stopped me and said.  Aim twenty yards to the right of the green and try to land the ball 25-30 yards short of the putting surface, So I hit a nice shot and watched the back trap keep me from going god knows where behind the green.

The course is as fast as Frosted.

The hole probably plays the same today but viewers might be curious to see how the pro\'s do their approach on #1. Someone else can describe the church pews or #10 green.

Anybody have a solid play at Santa Anita? Or Churchill?

I\'m playing tomorrow, a tough public course that fortunately is not that SOB they\'re playing the Open at.

You want to have the worst time of your life, play Pound Ridge in Connecticut some time, in high wind. Never again.

Thanks - I see now they\'ve been rained out for today.

High wind can pretty much ruin any round.  Played 2 rounds on consecutive days at the Silver Course at Doral (pre-trump) a couple of years back.  First round was a regular day, shot an 85 on a pussy-cat of a course.  Next day was 40 mph winds, which netted me a 112 - including a stood-on 140 yard approach with a 4-iron, that I swear was going backwards as it went into the drink.
