No real argument with the educational slant, yet, the question of did EXAGGERATOR handle the surface is germane and certainly worth some discussion.

Many horses do not appreciate certain tracks.  Clearly travel, unfamiliar or unacceptable accommodations have affected all of us, race horses much more so.

Evidence of EXAGGERATOR not liking the surface is open to each individual \'cappers interpretation. Yet,data readily available, was the workout prior to the race.  One poster, on another thread, foolishly,  used \"trainer speak\" as  evidence that \"EX\" handled it well.

Anyone who took the time to watch the work, saw a well held animal blowing the turn. In the race, \"EX\" is in reasonable position, takes two solid left handed cracks, yet, ducks in badly.

An odd race, as the Belmont often is.  Interest now, for me, is if/how much Winstar cuts back, if they do, on \"factory man\". bbb

Interesting thought on factory man as you call him.

Does anyone have stats on his firsters since the first of Jan?  His 3yo\'s at Gulfstream as well as Belmont 3yo\'s (and at least one 2yo at Belmont) haven\'t won nearly as much on the days I have been able to follow but that is purely anecdotal evidence based on weekends only when I can follow closely.  I have noticed in dirt races many haven\'t even hit the board even when favored.

If anyone can produce those stats, I would really be interested to see them.  I think I saw a stat in the DRF the other day that he is 19 percent with firsters (for the last 24 months???, not sure length of that stat).  That seems much lower than in years past.

since around Jan 1, I have it at 62 starts 10 wins 16% roi .59

Though it was pretty cool that the trainer in speak here refused to take Gettysburg back.
Not a fan of his but applaud the stance..
