Brian Lynch tests positive for marijuana in a random drug test and loses his trainers license?!  It\'s so absurd I\'m actually speechless.....

richiebee

No what is really absurd is that Lynch\'s horse is scratched as a result of this.
Horse\'s Owners: screwed; Horseplayers and Racing Fans: screwed; even NYRA: screwed.

This situation is breathtaking.  There is so much stuff screwed up about the NYRA,it is amazing that they can outdo one\'s imagination of new possible ways to screw up.  Imagine what the outcry would be if the Patriot\'s had to forfeit a game because Bill Belichick tested positive for Marijuana?  You would think at a minimum, he could appeal and avoid having his horses scratched.  It is transparent that Cuomo\'s stooges are doing everything possible to destroy the sport in NY.

Actualy NYRA got screwed here too because I think it was State Racing and Wagering
Board that suspended Lynch. Certain that NYRA did not want to lose a major player in
an already short field.

This has zero to do with NYRA.The rules are set by the New York State Gaming Commission which is all powerful in gambling issues/rules/licensing in NY State.

Why is he being singled out for something so pervasive?  What is it that they are REALLY punishing him for?

This story makes my head explode.  As (Im guessing) one of the few 40-something posters on this board, there is no hope in making this sport appealing to a younger generation if folks in charge are going to do dumb sht like this.  What in the world?

There are no words for something like this.  My head is still spinning.
