Barn going well

How much weight do people put into how well the barn has been doing recently?  Other than the obvious drugs \"on\"/drugs \"off\" scenario it\'s hard for me to get my head around why I should upgrade a horses chances if the barn has had a good string of fortune.  I get the fact that trainers may target specific meets so may heat up at certain times of the year but other than that hard to read to much into it.  What am I missing?

The 10 horse had a French rider and was supposed to go with Prat\'s horse like they did the last time.

Actually, Leparoux and Geroux were supposed to go with Prat\'s horse and didn\'t.  Maybe it was a French conspiracy?

Which ride u like better.  Strangling covellos horse off the speed with the rail draw.   Or the protracted strangle of noble bird for 3/4 of a mile.  (Neither horse may have had run today but he gave neither a chance )
