Lots of ink regarding TAP, but not much about Chad on this board. He wins lots of big races with good horseflesh, but getting a big win from a horse previously trained by Mott is not exactly a common occurence. Don\'t see a jump on his pre-Belmont figs on Slumber, but the horse does appear to be more consistent.

And what about the rumor of Ramsey dropping him? He is still the trainer on record for Stephanie\'s Kitten. Lots of Ramsey scratches on Derby Day attributed to this rumor; was it just a smokescreen for the real reason for International Star scratch? Haven\'t seen it mentioned in the media since then.

International Star was lame and scratched by the Kentucky State Vet, conspiracy theories not valid here.

Chad Brown, by MANY account at Belmont, cannot win as frequently with long running turfers, off layoffs or firsters, without help...f-king impossible

I thought Slumber was better off running at Belmont at 1 1/4 than at the snore going 1 1/8, especially considering the post position draw. Slumber also was fortunate to have found a pretty ordinary \"Grade 1\" bunch.
Many turf horses have a narrow window of preferred distances. My thoughts were that the 1 1/4 would fit him well especialy after watching his Bowling Green.

It\'s the same resaon that I thought War Story and Twilight Eclipse were tosses. That being said, I\'m not sure I would bet Slumber over either one of them going 1 3/8 or 1 1/2.

Good Luck,
