Is T Severini Charles \"Chuckles\" the Clown?

Evidence Opposing: T Severini posted his selection for the Belmont at 10:02 PM
Friday night (the Friday night BEFORE the race). Not the Clown\'s MO; sometimes
the Clown\'s selections were not revealed until the post mortem. I will not
disclose the selection but will say that said selection is bedded down in the
barn of one of the Clown\'s least favorite trainers.

Evidence Supporting: The T Severini post of 6/4/15/11:03 P.M. The \"head
lugging\" post, where Ch-- sorry, T.Severini related that he had watched all of
AP\'s works, and that during his final Belmont work AP\'s head was cocked
further to the right than in his previous works. The poster did mention that
the \"head lugging\" might have been attributed to the restraint AP was under
during the work.

This is classic Big Top/Ringling Brothers/Toby Tyler Clown. Straight from the
Clown College playbook. Because if AP had failed in his TC bid, it would have
had nothing to do with exhaustion or pedigree limitations or an amazing
unexpected performance from one of the also rans; the defeat would be neatly
traced back to the \"head lugging\" in AP\'s final work, head lugging which only
one person noticed.

To be fair, I did not watch the work which was linked to the post. I do not
know how far AP\'s head was cocked, though it can probably now be said that the
\"head lugging\" theory was, at the very least, half cocked.

Interesting observations.  The \"Chuckle\" years predates me, at least predates my daily review of the board so I can\'t comment on that.  Related to the head cocking (\"cockgate\"?) I did watch the video and did not notice even the smallest of cocks.  Found it interesting that the author saw something that not one of the \"experts\" noticed.

You are truly fortunate that it predates you.

He often manufactures tidbits like this, trying to come across as smarter than the rest of us. He isn\'t.

T Severini was thought to be the likely Clown early on this Derby season.  TGJB put TS on a tight leash as I recall and TS has adhered.  Interestingly, T Severini joined the board and posted once in 2013 and then had no posts again until 2015.

Richiebee indicated he was suspicious right away a while back.  And I had thoughts before richie\'s post stating as such.

CtC would often sign off or use lol in his posts in the early part of this century.  I don\'t think TS has done that.  Maybe age has matured the clown.

But much of the playbook as you call it seems similar with his analysis of horses drifting in and out in the early 2000s, AP\'s lugging work, etc.  In the past, he made reference to Silver Charm (the horse not the excellent TG poster) and in recent posts I believe TS referenced Silver Charm.  I remember when he said EMinem (empire maker) wouldn\'t win the Belmont and Funny Cide would.  Moments after the race, CtC was defending his play since FC had been so good to him....which as you alluded to he never told us his \"pick\" before the Derby.

The parallels are there.  We could indict TS under a probable cause standard as being CtC, with enough digging in old posts we could prove it by a preponderance but I think we are still lacking proof beyond on a reasonable doubt at this point richiebee to convict him.

If TS tells us he thinks one of the Belmont runners ran a \"zed\" we\'ll know for sure....

Richie,

Percentage play says it\'s Chuckles.  May sound more subdued, but same floppy shoes, same sinister minister style.

Richie generally your posts are very readable but this one has an axe to grind tone.  Why slam a poster?  What do you gain?  How does this contribute?

FWIW, AP did not work at Belmont!

Your well worded posts highlighting \"living room downs\" are fun to read.  This drive by shooting serves no purpose in my opinion.  bbb

Flighted Iron

Bells,

If that was a motion to have the entire thread scrapped,i second the motion.
Somewhere along the way TGJB made mention about sniping and potshots.\" Drive by shooting\".That\'s hilarious.

Flighted Iron

TGJB

Chuckles is a special case. And anyway, all thi attention is oxygen to him.

Meanwhile, its him. Location, location, location. It would be some coincidence.
TGJB

Flighted Iron

came on the board in 2007 and vaguely remember him.Curiosity is peaked though.
are his posts still searchable?

big18741

One of his angles for Triple Crown races was how a horses mother or father ran over the Churchill,Pimlico or Belmont tracks.

Posting that AP could run a bad race in Baltimore because his sire Pioneer of the Nile was eased in the Preakness was a Clown tell.

The intended contribution was humor. I sometimes have to realize that a lot of
the people on this board do not think the pursuit of a positive ROI or a
lifetime score is a laughing matter, and said pursuit needs to be treated with
funereal solemnity.

Bells, without insulting you and Flighted Iron, you both are being a bit tone
deaf. The only time I think my axe came out on this board was in response to
Ken Sherman, posting here as Ollie. If he ever resurfaces, I probably owe him
an apology. I\'ve taken a few swings at NYRA and Charles Hayward in the past but
I have been relatively well behaved lately. The tone you should have taken from
this was the one that was intended, which was a playful and humorous one, sorry
you did not.

Sorry, I meant AP\'s last work in preparation for the Belmont!

If you care to look back over the exchanges between Chuckles and me over the
years, you will find that while we rarely agreed on anything, we were
usually cordial towards each other, and our exchanges had a humorous tone, even
when arguing over one of Chuck\'s pet subjects, the \"Dead Pletchers\" (Left Bank etc) of 2001.

Chuckles brief appearance at Chez Len made the Rag Board unusually readable.

Also if you care to go through old posts, you will see that there was a time
when a great deal of posters expressed (on the Board and I would imagine
privately to TGJB) strong feelings that CtC be denied the privileges of the
grounds. I seem to recall composing a light hearted post suggesting that rather
than imposing a ban on the Clown, that the Board have an added feature which
allowed posters disturbed by the Clown to \"Mark All Chuckles Messages Read.\"

If I was a performance equine, I would never require a tongue tie, as said
tongue is usually buried deep in cheek, as it was here. And believe me, if I
ever undertake a drive-by shooting, expect to see (in a literal sense) body
bags, bloodied innocent bystanders and shattered glass; I usually save said
drive-bys for political and social commentary posted in my local newspaper.*

--------
* Speaking of the local newspaper, I find myself, much like CtC, on the outside
looking in. After years of posting comments which expressed some rather extreme
political and social viewpoints, I was banned for taking potshots (no pun
intended) at the Food Editor/Restaurant Critic.

I don\'t think Elmore Leonard or Raymond Chandler could have made that board readable, but Chuckles did break up the monotony of figure fixation and serial article linking.

BTW, congratulations on your exile from the local fish wrap.  Given the quality of most of what I read, save for Magic\'s outfit, you can wear their censure as a badge of discernment, a quality that was undoubtedly lacking in your target.

In addition, can I assume your drive-by would be initiated from a White Mercedes?
