Filly #'s

Gentlemen

Please explain in more detail; \"Fillies and mares on average are about 3 points slower than their male counterparts so her 2s are roughly equivalent to 5s for the guys\".

I always thought a number was a number; and it didn\'t matter if run by a colt, mare, filly, gelding, or horse.

I am very confused by your statement.

Thank You

bdhsheets: Figs are figs. If a filly is running 2\'s she\'ll be competitive versus males running like figures.

If you look at the sire stats, the average tops for fillies are 2-3 pts slower than males.

Hope that helps.

asfufh: Shouldn\'t it say \"Fillies and mares on average are about 3 points slower than their male counterparts so her 2s are roughly equivalent to NEGATIVE 1\'s for the guys\" ?

TGJB: A filly and colt that run 2\'s at equal weights and ground loss will finish in a dead heat. Fillies on average are 3 points slower. ROTW screwed it up-- a filly that runs a 2 fits with fillies the way a colt with a neg 1 fits with colts.
