Illinois Racing Near Death

About a month ago it was reported that both Arlington and Hawthorn requested fewer dates for 2015 and Arlington wants to strip Hawthorn of some simulcast revenue.  Now that gamblers have had a choice in Illinois it is clear that they\'d rather play slots and video poker than go to the track. Our idiot Governer has vetoed gambling expansion which would have put slots in the tracks and kept them on life support for awhile.  My point to this post is that the hypocrisy revolving around gambling is ridiculous.  You can play video poker and lottery pretty much anywhere in the state but we draw the line at allowing that behavior at race tracks. Really?
