Did anyone else go back and try and hand time the race?

My and several friends did and we all got a much slower time

Anyone have any thoughts ?

We had same time through 3/4 but much slower coming home than track clock

Would appreciate anyone\'s thoughts.

Jim,

Enormous problems with GP times. Between screwed up run ups and timer malfunctions, a fig maker friend tearing his hair out this meet.

Would not be shocked if time wrong, but Beyer affirmation of 111 figure would signal some type of time verification.

We got it 1/5th slower than track time.

Might want to revisit that 8 going in......mainly TG 4\'s elsewhere.

There were only two one-turn races on the card, and I added more to the other (Normandy Invasion, who ran negative, and that race is definitely right).

Having said that, there wasn\'t much to go on in terms of figures in the maiden race, there was a lot of wind that day, and it\'s always possible the track changed speed. I\'ll look again when more have run back.

Either way, the horse jumped forward.

If you take it just off the 3rd place finisher, who seems to run the same number every time, 25L and basically the same path with same weight...it\'s Sinister Minister all over again. Assume though that, his consistency be damned, he did not run his fig again and must have regressed.

Things a bit different if you take if off HC-significant weight and ground loss (at least 2wider on 1st turn, 0.5wider on 2nd, though trakus has it almost double that...not for the first time either...but that\'s a debate for another day) to help him make up that the 10L. Throw in what Jerry just said about 1/5th slower and you\'ve got a more manageable number for the winner, still an insane jump up of course.

What you also have though, I\'d point out, is a really really good comeback, 3yo debut, for an already fast 2yo who did...you know...run at 2. Pattern wise going forward, maybe we\'re all focusing on the wrong horse here...?

Honor Code\'s 2yo top of 2, with his 2 other races as a two yo being a 6 & 7 will not get it done. He will effectively have one prep and needs a new top to win the derby.

HC also spotted a point in weight. Gap between the figures of the top two is not nearly what the visual indicated.
