\"Effective immediately, Xpressbet customers are able to place wagers that directly commingle into the traditionally large French pools, the company announced in a press release Aug. 28.\"

It will be interesting to see if Xpressbet customers will be able to bet on the \"Quinte\", which is basically a Super High Five, but offered up in two different pools (one is the \"ordered\" pool, where you select the first five finishers of the designated Quinte race in any order; the other being the \"ordered\" pool, where you have to have the first five in order).

There is one Quinte race each race day, and it\'s typically a 16-horse field without a standout favorite. I was just over there for a vacation and - from what I saw - both pools typically attract about a million dollars (about 800k Euro) each day. On the day Wesley Ward won the Prix Morny with No Nay Never, a 13-1 shot won the Quinte race and the \"ordered\" pool paid about 400K Euro for two winning tickets.

There are lots of outlets where you can bet the Quinte (and any other bet) and apparently many people just approach it as a lottery (which might explain the consistently large pools). So, this is my \"dead money alert\" for any of you Xpressbet customers out there. Assuming, of course, that you think you can dope out a competitive 16-horse field in France. Bon chance!

By the way, I made it to Deauville twice, and it\'s as nice a racetrack as you could ever expect to see. If you\'ve ever thought about a trip to see the American Memorial at Omaha Beach, Deauville is only about 40 minutes away. Don\'t do one without seeing the other.

I was browsing around xb the other day and noticed the french racing, big pool sizes.  wonder if they have had this for a while and just announcing it today.

Notice also the place(our show) pool = in size to the win pool.
