Does anyone play Quinellas?

During the Saratoga meet I\'ve been reviewing the Analysis in the Redboard Room & I can\'t recall seeing a suggestion to play a quinella.  Since NY has quinellas in the 2nd & 4th races, I wonder if anyone around here uses them instead of exacta boxes.  I admit I rarely use them, preferring to play exacta boxes, but in yesterday\'s 4th I had a strong opinion on the winner (Who I saw today the Analysis had as their pick) and instead of boxing the exacta, I played a 2/4,8 exacta & a 2/4,8 quinella, instead of my usual (numbers change per race, of course) 4,8/2 exacta saver.  The result of being correct on the winner meant I was still protected if I got beat by one of my savers, but instead of cashing only the $102.50 exacta, I also cashed a $53 quinella.  One of the reasons I did this was early in the betting the quinella with the favorite was paying more than the exacta with the favorite on top (I\'m sure it changed later in the betting).
So, does anyone regularly use the quinella instead of boxing the exacta, and does the Analysis ever recommend a quinella?

The only reason to play a Q , would be if you were going to box anyway and saw an overly generous payoff LATE in the betting.

Nothing magical about the Q, its just combines the 2 exacta\'s into one bet.
