Day 20 the half point of the meet saw  31,000 come through the gates on a beautiful day to see the champion Wise Dan strut his stuff. A great horse not only carrying weight but spotting 12-14 lbs to the field is something that we hardly ever see anymore. King Kreesa ran his eyeballs out on the engine in an upset bid but in the end the champion never really had an anxious moment.

Now on to the Gambling:

The seminar\'s banishment to the 2nd floor of the carousel area has not been a popular move and per TGJB & Steve Byk the Carolina BBQ will be back next year. Great news for the displaced T-generates who have been spoiled by the comfort, central location and social club atmosphere of the past few years.

I missed the sparsely at tented meeting but did get to the track in time for the 1st race to find TGJB and Uncle Bill Spillane at a table downstairs across from our former shrine. A quick hello and a question of what\'s up got Jerry to respond with 2,6,7 in the first with the dead rail horse in the second.

The X has become the automatic horizontal inclusion as much as the 1st gelding, they get put into the equation no matter what they look like. Upon further observation this horse had a back number, speed and the 9/5 Charlton Baker favorite in the race was even more of a choice to bounce to the moon as he did off running the same number previously.

Doubles of 2,6,7 with the 4 as well as pick 3\'s of 2,6,7 / 4 / ALL & 2,6,7 / 4 / 5,6,7 were made and the meets bottom line was going to change quickly for yours truly.

The first race saw the 7 Moonlight Song blast off and when the day is done I\'m sure our numbers cruncher will come up with a speed favoring golden rail on the main track. The Jacobson charge Tenago the 6 horse came 3W to threaten the speedster for a moment until he shook free again for a comfortable win. As they crossed the finish line TGJB pronounced its Jacobson\'s first top of the meet, he has won a few races but that was his first horse to run a new top and he will get a better figure than the winner when the numbers are done.

With a gate scratch in the 2nd we were reduced to 5 and Roman Invader took a 5 minute to post plunge in the odds before drifting up again. Is Jacobson\'s barn going to go on a streak? The dead rail horse and Roman Invader provided a $ 66 dollar exacta in a 5 horse field and a $66 dollar double with a 2/1 first race winner.

The pick 3 will pays are juicy and we\'re off on a pick 4 ticket of
2,4 / 5,6,7 / 1,2,3,5 / 7,9,13 and additional tickets singling the 4 in the first leg. TGJB had a very positive opinion if the 1 horse in the 4th who paid $ 13.80.
A $ 288 pick 3 with the dead rail sandwiched by 2/1 shots and a $ 2,090 pick 4 made the trips to the brew pub and Hattie\'s for a chicken sandwich much more enjoyable!!!!

Not much for the rest of the day a couple futile double attempts with Wise Dan as one of Chad Browns underlings grabbed me in the paddock and said Barbie Wire in the 9th was very very good and an impossible 2 aluminum pad horse winning the first leg of the late pick 4 could only be had with the all button.
All 9 / 1 / All had me excited for 20 minutes until Barbie Wire flattened out and the Weaver/Allday connection a logical 8/5 choice won as easy as you please in the 9th for an $8.10 double with Wise Dan. No betting a delicatessen to win a pickle here!

Good luck,

Frank: Glad to hear you-all had a VERY good day . . . Shep\'s rail piece for Bowtie AdMan Bill came up VERY hot from relevant (Shep/jump type) sources, and paid great . . . and the foes of In Trouble certainly were! . . . will confess to liking Bruce\'s Dangerous Lad a good deal at the price, given how I expected the race to be run -- and how I didn\'t like any of the playdown horses.   Sure as hell gave Lopresti a shot, and that exacta/tri was reachable by the brave (though alas, not by me) . . . admit to enjoying how the Little King Who\'s (Almost) Never Wrong couldn\'t see DL for dirt . . . I saw Ghost Hunter\'s first three races; he surely prefers plenty of running room, but was never going to see the wide open spaces, yesterday . . . continued GL . . .
