What was the best route number a Euro horse has ever run in Europe.  The numbers say these two would pretty much take turns beating each other..

I would say that through Oct of 4 year old year, it is pretty clear Frankel is better than Wise Dan.

Wise Dan did not get better until after Oct of his 4yo year.  Frankel\'s last race was October of his 4 yo year.

Also, I shudder to think what Frankel would be as a 5 yo and also what he would be if given Lasix.

To me, even though Wise Dan ran two figures better than Frankel ever reached, Frankel got down earlier in his career and was more consistent than Wise Dan -- and all in the absence of lasix.  Had Frankel been given the chance (5 year old campaign in North America), I think it is reasonable to think he would have reached the heights (or better) that Wise Dan did go on to reach when he was given that chance to improve on his earlier career.

Completely agree, and when you factor in the open lengths he won his races by it is very possible that he could have been asked for more and actually gotten better figures in certain races if he had needed to.

No knocks on Dan. Right now it would be a hell of a race. But Frankel\'s figures are pretty amazing seeing how most of his races were 6 furlongs galloping behind Bullet Train and 2 furlongs for putting the race away.

With Frankel breaking slow in a big field in the U.S. - Wise Dan would get first jump and be a huge advantage.

Frankel apparently never ran on truly FIRM going. No telling if he would have loved or hated it.

 Suspect the former.

Would love to see these two race at a neutral site like Hong Kong, a big
international field, with a packed grandstand.

That being said, and I do not follow international racing, Frankel has been
called over the last year a horse for the ages, and someone posted here
numbers from Timeform which showed him to be a horse (or the horse) for all
ages.

Wise Dan seems like a very fast, very versatile horse who is very good right
now. His greatest challenge in the Mile might have been if Little Mike had
been entered and tried to bottom the field out in the first half mile.

I\'m in a tough spot. I\'ve never seen Frankel. I think Wise Dan is possibly
a \"Now\" horse. As such, the closest thing I have to a Greatest Horse Ever
(v.2012) is Royal Delta.
