Ran the best number in the Manhattan. Hard for anyone without the TG\'s to believe that. Also, a buried race. Should help the odds next time.

well now that you told everybody, maybe not.

Everyone was touting Tapitsfly on Saturday and she still paid $8.40. Most bettors use DRF. Thats all I see at the track. Very rare to see any sheets being used.No difference in the odds.

Justwin - not that I\'m paranoid about odds, especially on big days, but you are probably not looking in the right places.  The guys that buy sheets bet way more money than the guys you are describing, and there are plenty of them in the Turf Club or Clubhouse exclusive type setups that exist at most tracks.  At the BIG M there are these rooms where you get your own table and TV, etc.  Loaded with sheets guys.  I knew a guy, I won\'t name him, but he had his own room in an OTB on Long Island.  Nobody saw him.  He bet more than the rest of the place combined, using sheets, and that\'s why them gave him his private room.  Plus you probably can\'t see the guys that bet from home off the Internet and through other computer setups.  You know when you see the odds change after the gate opens and they start running?  Those guys.  You are correct that \"most guys use DRF\" but if you look at it in terms of handle, the sheets have an impact for sure, and you can see it vs. the ML on a regular basis.

yes, understood. I am more of a casual/big race day player where there is probably a lot more of the drf money. Either way anyone with the sheets will see Brilliant Speed\'s #\'s and the odds will not be affected by my comment. He may not even be the play depending on what race he goes in, what type of value he is, etc.

Just,

Didn\'t do much running when they began to spirnt last half, slow pace hurt also. His lack of tactical speed causes him to lose ground and he is one of those that does not do well along the fence, esp on dirt.Thought this horse was going to be a good one but gave up on him.

Think he\'s one of those that\'s faster on paper than he is on the racetrack.

great, just what i needed in my life, a horse to torture me the way al khali used to.

Well said Mike! I tossed him after further review on Saturday. One win since the Blue Grass and a boat load of excuses at low odds. He will get one sometime but at 2-1or 3-1 everytime out the ROI on this one is gonna be poor....

Could not agree with this more..I have been playing and playing this one even if I didn\'t like him in the race strictly because of him having the best numbers but no more...I\'ll let him beat me..It\'s not like he is 10/1 in these races either..

Papa,

Just my interpretation, other sheet readers will see BS very differently. Many critical of the rides of Rosario, Johnny V not realizing this horse has a preferred running style of being out in the clear, making one run.Made a very nice long run wide run which cost him in the Belmont last year.

Saw both riders steer this one to the 4-5 path when they could have gone inside.

I have been watching at multiple venues, and when using xpressbet odds window, 100% of odds change after gate opens, then at end of race.

HP

Yes.  The odds change throughout.  People (not you Sight) often refer to this and they are shocked or think it indicates cheating.  If the race is a minute and change I think the \"board\" takes that long to catch up to what hits the pool the second the gate opens and the buzzer goes off.  At least a minute?  And those VERY late guys bet the heaviest?  The board is not \"real time.\"  ITech guys would know better than me but I think there is a big delay, probably over the time it takes to run the race.  It is built into it now, especially given the volume of Internet bets, etc.

Many of the game\'s idols couldn\'t see beyond the bustout favorite in that race . . . got fooled by that \"improved\" number on \"good\" turf in her seasonal return -- but she still didn\'t stack up favorably under gimlet-eyed analysis, and many refused to recognize how much Tapitsfly was going to be helped by the way the course was playing.   Even the British books got fooled by that winner, and they don\'t get fooled, often.
