Lost Cause

This was and probably will be my play to win the race but the seminar brought up the 3 week workout gap and has me scared.  Anyone know what happened to this one between March 27th and April 20th..The trainer keeps saying she made the call to bring in a fresh horse so she skipped the Fantasy but why the workout gap??..something smells fishy...I am not a fan of the jock but it looks like all he has to do is sit there on the rail behind the speed, wait for an opening , point and shoot..hopefully the rail is okay..It also doesn\'t hurt that she is 2 for 2 at Churchill..

If you recall, they were seriously talking like they were going to go to the Derby from the Fantasy.  Clearly something was amiss for them to basically park it and not work, then skip the Fantasy and abandon Derby hopes.  That sure isn\'t a lot of work in between.  For what it\'s worth, she\'s dragging her exercise rider around every morning looking like one that\'s wanting more.  Fast but an underlay.

I don\'t like her.  When elite horses run big, they need expert handling and this one isn\'t getting it.  Breeding will likely not want the extra 1/16th.  Throw in an inexperienced jock down on the rail, I\'m leaving her off.

Inexperienced?  The guy\'s been riding 23 years. Think of Calvin Borel before he started winning the Derby.  Also the guy has been a regular at CD.  You may not like the jockey because he\'s an average journeyman, but you can\'t call him inexperienced, especially at his home track.
