Somebody should direct Richard Dutrow to the archives for the pieces on proper spacing.

He is running a horse for the 4th time in 12 days today.  The first three efforts were good, we will see about this one...

Thanks for bringing this up Jimbo66 , \'Lost and crew  . Imho , It\'s pretty difficult to not second guess a decision to run a Horse in 4 races over a span of 12 days . Personally speaking , it\'s hard to imagine how the Horses and Racing\'s interests are being served by this type of campaign .

I agree with you Marcus but I remember him doing this with another horse during the inner track meet or Aqu meet and winning.  I just can\'t believe the owners allow it..

The horse is entered on Sunday again as MTO for the Lake Placid Stakes...... UNBELIEVABLE.

It becomes borderline-understandable when a specific horse has a proven affinity for the racing strip at a boutique meeting.

I remember Quick - Call and Fourstardave running a few extra races upstate due to their affinity for the track but I don\'t think it was 3 times in 12 days or possibly 4 times in 17 days..That is Borderline-mental..

All you guys are obviously trainers or vets, AND know this horse as well as Dutrow does. None of you would just jump in on a Dutrow-bashing party, I\'m certain.

I\'m just wondering why none of you guys ever criticize Barry Abrams for doing the same thing with his horses out in Southern California? His horses seem to run back pretty quick...and not just one horse.

Fair enough point(s) Rick B , \'Top and others but , I wasn\'t necessarily intending to bash the Trainer - but only that type of campaign IMO.

... but now while we are on the subject ,and speaking personally as a sheets player only and to qualify these and earlier remarks as such  . Unless I\'m mistaken , I have read here on this forum and as well in many other well respected sources of information elsewhere , that a horse may drop up to 20 lbs in weight after a race - and also ,in a legitimate\"Catastrophic / Rear Breakdowns study(s)\" posted on this site a few years ago , there is a direct connection between workout miles /racing miles and a higher degree breakdowns .

Just as something to consider in my view ,and this does not pertain to anybody in this conversation or any horse at this strip but-  what is one to make of horses at 4+5 yo and older running 12 to 14 point top efforts and the like ? Even on a best possible circumstance imho, late developing campaigns and late developing breeding (those unraced at 2 + 3 yo not-with-standing ) can really only account for a couple points worth  of \"development \" !

Perhaps I\'m a fiscally conservative and socially liberal type but imho , I favor the use of Lasix because I feel it\'s \"good\" for the horses who are at varying degree\'s of being bleeders , but I would like to see Zero tolerance with use of other\"medications\" or \"substances\"..

There is quite a bit of history with that Trainer and certainly any speculation that is on the table with Dutrow would be perfectly understandable - even just common sense imo , at least as a handicapper and on an Academic level as well . Not sure - but OK I guess that I don\'t get the Dutrow / Abrams connection , however the way I personally see things  ,it\'s apple\'s and oranges -they are in 2 completely different leagues

My comment has nothing to with Dutrow...It\'s about the HORSE! Dutrow wins a lot of races wheeling them right back within 1-7 days, but running this horse like he has is a joke! He claimed her then wheeled her right back with 3days rest,which I bet the horse and the horse won, then to wheel her back with 4days rest in the slop, IMO is pushing it. She ran 2nd in the slop, but thats not good enough he runs her again with 3days rest on the turf.... runs last eased in the race. Now shows up in the entries for Sunday as MTO, please let them be on the turf!

If you are a sheet player, you know, rest is paramount! right?

So, forget the sheets in this instance, just show common sense here. You feel this is the right thing to do with a horse who already got you a win right off the claim? Then a second 4 days later... common man! REALLY?
